Chapter 11

Chase pov:

I ran out of the house furious. I started walking towards the gate and I felt someone grab my hand to pull me back.

"Nick. Not now, I really don't want to-"

I turned around and there was Charli. She looked concerned.

"Chase, what's wrong?"

"I've got to go."

"Babe, seriously tell me whats wrong."

"Okay, but not here." I said starting to walk.

She grabbed my hand and we started walking then running.

"Baby, where are we going though?"

"You'll see." I said.

I had tears in my eyes but I tried to hold them in. I couldn't look like a baby to Charli. I had to be strong for her.

We got to where I wanted to go. The abandoned tree house only I know about. In LA it's weird to think there's an abandoned tree house. But that's where I go when I'm upset. I've never showed anyone and now here I am showing my girlfriend, Charli.

We climbed up the ladder and Charli's mouth was still wide open in awe.

"How? What? When? I'm so confused!" She said.

"I'm the only one that knows about it i'm pretty sure." I replied.

"Okay baby. What's wrong?" She asked calmly.

"I got upset at Nick. I honestly don't know what he meant but I think I took it the wrong way. All I know is i'm not up to see him anytime. I think I hurt him more than he hurt me."

"Chase?"

"Yeah?" I asked.

"I think that's more of a reason to see him. You need to make it better. You see, when I get mad at Dixie I storm off but every time either Dixie comes to check on me or I go to check on her. We are sisters and best friends. That's what friends do. And most importantly that's what family does. You and Nick are like brothers. I'd say Nick is probably searching for you right now. I mean you did disappear. He's probably worried sick about you."

"Charls, You know you give great advice, right?"

"Okay, come on. Let's go find Nick."

We climbed out of the tree house and down the street. And that's when we saw all of our friends searching for us. Ryland spotted us. Ryland yelled "There they are!"

Nick turned around and tears were streaming down his face.

I couldn't control my legs, they just started running towards Nick faster and faster. I ran to him and wrapped my arms around him while sobbing.

"I'm so sorry. You are my brother and I care about you. I realize I hurt you. But what I've realized is that its not about the words that are said. It's about the person and intention they had. Charli helped me see that." I turned and smiled at her. She was practically crying tears of joy.

"Chase you do realize you are the best brother I could ask for. I'm here for you, no matter what."
