Our Unforgiveable Story

Part 14

It was late afternoon when someone knocked on Natasha's bedroom door waking the both of them. Steve and Nat were still cuddling each other when they woke up. "G'morning sleepy head" Steve said kissing Nat's forehead. Before Nat could reply another knock came. Suddenly all the tiredness left Nat's body and she yelled a "Just a second baby mommy has to go to the bathroom" to the door. "Ok mommy" Sarah's voice yelled back. "Steve you have to hide in the bathroom" Nat said standing up. "Not this again you were the one that told me to stay" Steve said exasperatedly. "Steve I told you I don't want the kids to think we are together again only for them to be crushed" Nat explained. "I told you we will be together again they won't be crushed" Steve said holding Nat's hands.
"Fine you can open the door" Nat said hesitantly. "Hi baby" Steve said picking up Sarah. "Daddy you're still here!" Sarah said excitedly hugging her dad. "What do you need baby?" Nat asked coming closer to Steve and Sarah. "I'm hungry mommy" Sarah said. Steve carried Sarah while Nat went to wake up James. Once they were all downstairs Nat started cooking breakfast while Steve and the kids got the table ready. Few minutes later they were all eating eggs, bacon, and pancakes together just like before. As much as Nat didn't want to admit it being together again actually seemed possible and she was considering trying to work things out with Steve.
The rest of the day was like every day they spent before things started to go wrong. They played with their kids watched movies with them, made each other laugh and Steve flirting with her when their kids weren't listening. Everything seemed like such a fairytale and Nat didn't want it to end but she knew it had to. After eating dinner the kids took a bath and it was time for bed. Steve and Nat tucked their kids into bed and kissed them goodnight. "Hey Nat can we talk like really talk" Steve asked when they left the room. "Yeah ok let's go downstairs" Nat said. Once downstairs Nat opened a bottle of vodka for her and a beer for Steve. "So what do you want to talk about?" Nat asked although she already had a guess. Then the conversation Nat dreaded began.
