Our Unforgiveable Story

Part 17

After they dropped the kids off at school they went to Steve's house because it was closer.

S: "Do you wanna go out for lunch?"

N: "Are you asking me out on a date Rogers?"

S: "Depends"

N: "On what exactly?"

S: "Well if you say no because you think it's too fast then it's not a date but if you say yes then it is a date, simple"

N: "Well then it's a date"

They went to a little Italian restaurant that serves the best pizza according to their friends Carol and Valkyrie who discovered it on one of their dates. When they were almost done eating Steve asked something off topic from their previous conversation about their friends' relationship and when they would get married.

S: "Nat can I ask you for something?"

N: "What is it?"

S: "I know I haven't totally earned your forgiveness yet but I wanted to ask if you are willing to wear your rings again or at least your promise ring if you even kept it that is"

N: "Of course I kept it Steve even though we are divorced those rings still mean a lot to me and I am willing to wear the promise ring but the engagement and wedding rings are a different story"

Nat looked through her bag for a few moments before pulling out a red ring box surprising Steve.

S: "You carry the rings in your bag"

N: "I promised to never take them off my finger but that didn't really work out so I thought it's better than nothing"

Steve smiled sadly at what she said and suddenly took the ring box out of her hand and motioned for the waiter to bring the check. "C'mon I wanna bring you somewhere Steve said taking her hand and leading them outside.

After a cab ride with Nat constantly asking where they were going and Steve saying be patient they finally made it to their destination, Central Park. Steve led her through the park to a secluded spot. Natasha looked around and suddenly a light bulb went out in her mind and she was about to ask Steve about it when she saw what he was doing and became speechless.
