"Come on, Robin. Georgetown is one of the best schools in the country!" My dad was ranting at this point.
My parents were back from their business trip and kept telling me about a man they met who happened to be on the Georgetown acceptance board and, my dad especially, wouldn't shut up about me going there.
"It's where I went! Don't you want to go to your old man's university? You would fit in perfectly!"
Leave it to my dad to assume that he knows what I want. But damn it, I really do love Georgetown. He could never know because then he really won't shut up about it. He'll make me go to the reunions and shit. So for now, I'll just keep him on the edge.
Eventually they left me alone to go to dinner. They did ask if I wanted to go with them but I was kind of in the mood to be alone.
They didn't fight me on it.
I went on up to my room where I checked my phone that was charging on my bed. I saw that Franco had texted me.
aleeah told me about her breakup with jane. i went over to bring her cupcakes but she wasn't home. is she with you?
Aleeah hadn't told me anything about coming over to my house so I started to wonder where she went. I texted Franco back.
not with me. gonna text her to see where she is.
oh okay. lmk when you find her. maybe i could bring over the cupcakes and we'll eat them together :)
sounds good :) 💓
Franco and I hadn't yet decided where we'll be going on a date yet. We've texted about it but could not settle. Eventually we decided that the next time we'll see each other, we would be going on a date so that we would have to come up with a date to see each other soon. This was actually my idea.
I texted Aleeah asking her where she is and that Franco is looking for her.
Five minutes later, she texted me back.
hey. i'm just walking. thinking about stuff. tell franco that i'm busy.
I wondered why she just didn't tell Franco herself. Is she mad at him? Is she... avoiding him?
well okay. remember that you can come over if you need to and we can talk things out.
Aleeah replied with a heart.
Then she texted me back something weird that made me incredibly nervous because I couldn't figure out why she would text me this:
i'm sorry, franco.
