[ Chapter VI. ]

I LOOKED AT EVERYONE IN THE ROOM, Mom and Kim were pouring the drinks on the cups that Jessica passed while Sarah handed out napkins. Mike and Mark were passing out the plates in the respective seats while I was already sitting down on my spot. I already knew that Jake and Henry were out in the living room, cleaning it up.

"Did Dad go?" Sarah asked Mom in a flat tone but we all knew that she was curious and to be honest, so was I

"Yep. With Kyle and Nigel." Mom answered her question and I looked at her in shock before shaking it off

"What did you two do?!" I yelled from my spot towards Jake and Henry before I stood up, walking towards the living room

"Woah...check it out." I heard Jake say as the rest of our siblings, including Bud, started to surround Henry and Jake by the damaged wall

"Yeah, must have an escape hatch. Look at all this stuff." Henry said as we eyed all the items that the rat had taken over the past few years

"That's mine, from, like, the '80s. Oh, my goodness." Nora said to herself in disbelief as she pointed at a dirty teddy bear that Henry handed to her

"Careful. Careful. Ooh, honey, let me see that." Mom told Jake who had grabbed a large cloth and I went to stand beside her to see what it was

"Look at this. It's our old team flag." Mom said to everyone in amazement as she unfolded the cloth, showing us the worn-out TEAM BAKER flag

"From the year we lost to Murtaugh's by two points." Henry reminded us and I growled at the mention at the game

"Yeah, 'cause Jamie fell in the sack race,"  Mark added with a large grin and I glared at my brother before shaking my head

"I did not fall, I was tripped by Daniel." I reminded all my siblings sternly as I placed my hands over my belly

"Daddy carried her all the way home. A lot of memories. And you know your father, he wants to be apart of every single one of them. That's why he's having such a hard time letting go. But you know one thing for sure. No matter what Daddy says, if he's in a good mood or a bad mood, you're his favorite team, right?" Mom asked us and we all stayed quiet, knowing that she was telling the truth

                                                                                         ****

"Guys, Mike's already speaking!" I exclaimed to Charlie, Lorraine, and Sarah along with Henry and Mike

"Lorraine, lift the flag!" I whispered to my sister who nodded her head lifting the now clean TEAM BAKER flag while Bud who was in the other car repeatedly pressed the horn
