You were about to go to bed, it was early, but your boyfriend, Bokuto, who would usually come over around this time, was away at training camp. After turning on the lights, you lie down on your bed and close your eyes. As you nearly drift off to sleep, your phone begins to buzz.
You blindly reach for your phone until your fingers find it and you bring it to your ear.
"Hello?"
You didn't know who was on the line but found out very soon. "Babe! I missed your voice."
You chuckled. Of course, Bo would call you while he was practicing volleyball with Akaashi and Kuroo. They were probably teasing him, saying that he was a lovesick puppy and totally hung up on you. They weren't wrong, Bokuto would spend as much time as possible around you. He would walk you to your classes, even if it made him late for his own. He would come to your house every day after practice and hug you in his sweaty clothes. Every time you would go to one of his matches and he would score a point he would blow a kiss to you like the absolute dork that he was.
He was absolutely head over heals for you, and everyone knew it.
"Bo, you're at training camp, shouldn't you be, you know, training?" you scold lightly, even though you were smiling into the phone.
"But babe," He whines, "How can I train when this is the time I would come over and cuddle you?"
You hear Kuroo crack up in the background and say something along the lines of 'get your head out of _____'s panties and come back to practice' "Kotaro if you ever want to break being best five aces in the country, I'd quit talking to me and listen to Kuroo."
"But Kuroo is being mean and blocking all of my line shots," He whines. "Maybe I could be more on my game if you could motivate me with one of your kisses."
You had been dealing with Bo's cheesy lines since before you even started dating, but at one point, they started sounding less cheesy, and now, they do nothing but make you swoon the smallest bit.
"Then I guess you won't be on your game until you see me again," you sigh. On the outside, it seemed like Bokuto was the one more invested in the relationship and most everyone could see why. But deep down, you were every bit in love with him as he was with you.
"I wanna see you now _____."
You shake your head, "Bo, I'm going to hang up. Not because I don't want to talk, but because you need to work."
He groans, "Fine, goodnight _____, I love you."
"Goodnight Kotaro," You say before hanging up the phone.
