As the slashing of axes continued in the dark, a sudden commotion from behind caught my attention. I was still gripping tightly to Curtis's arm, feeling his heavy breaths as he tried to keep me protected. Please have those bloody matches, Chan, I thought desperately. All of a sudden Matron's whiney voice cut through the heavy darkness. "Officer Fuyu! What are you doing? Don't look at me. Get them." She yelled. I had no idea what she was talking about, but an orange hue coming from behind me caught my attention. Still holding onto Curtis, I turned around. A cry of happiness left my lips as I saw my fellow passengers bringing forward makeshift fire torches. As Grey came running past Curtis and me, torch in hand, more and more passengers filtered into the carriage with torches. Soon the whole carriage was illuminated once more. We could see, we could finally start kicking arse again. I squeezed Curtis's arm before letting go. He looked to me nodding before running forward, joining Grey's side as they began bludgeoning the axemen once more.

With light back on our side, I gripped my axe and ran forward, ready to slay anyone in my way. Edgar rushed forward, with his own torch. He used the flame as a bat-like weapon, hitting any axeman in his path. I'd lost view of Curtis, but the constant falling ambers surrounding us reminded me we'd soon have the upper hand again. As an axeman rushed at me, I raised my axe above my head, in one quick blow I brought the weapon down onto the man's skull. I stepped over the body and continued stalking forward, slicing, and cutting at everyone in a balaclava. With my vision now restored, I had regained my confidence, I was ready to continue fighting. I kept my eyes on Mason, she was still dead ahead, but now, panic and disbelief were displayed across her face.

Suddenly, the voice of the train worker who had held the megaphone filled the carriage. "Surrender! Surrender! Surrender, he'll kill me if we don't surrender." The man screamed. I looked up, seeing that Grey had the worker pulled up against him, a blade at his throat. I looked to Mason, the woman only shrugged her shoulders, I shook my head, the bitch doesn't even care about her own. Without a second thought, Grey slit the train workers throat, throwing his body to the floor before rushing forward. I looked back to my own task at hand. Three balaclava-wearing men were approaching me, two of them had axes and the other a spear. I gulped before gritting my teeth, if there is a will there is a way, right? On that thought I lunged forward, shouting out as I did so. The man with the spear pushed the weapon forward, hoping to skewer me through the middle. I immediately stood to the side of his attack. To be honest, I don't even think you had to be a good fighter to take down these guys, they were being rather narrow-minded with their attacks.

Now next to his spear, I hooked my axe over his weapon and used my free hand to grab onto it before I pulled the spear towards me. The action caused the man to loosen his grip on the spear. I took the opportunity to push with all my might, directing the spear back towards its handler. The movement winded the attacker, thankful for his discomfort I unhooked my axe and swung it towards his temple. The blow made a sickening crunch and a spurt of blood projected from his head as I pulled my weapon out. But there was no time to dwell, the other two axemen had already lined themselves up as my next opponents.

I spat to the side, before wiping my forehead with the back of my hand. One of the axemen lunged at me, the swing of his axe barely missed my chest. Not wanting to take another chance I swung my own axe upwards, slicing his throat from the bottom up. I sidestepped as the body fell beside me. I stared down at the final man. I must have looked like a crazed psycho. I could feel my hair matting together thanks to the grime throughout it and I knew that my face was caked in blood, but I didn't care, this needed to be done for us, for our freedom and our future. For everything, we'd seen and will see. I rushed at the man, swinging my axe, and landing it at the centre of his chest. I brought my foot up to his body, pulling my axe out leaving his limp body to thud against the floor.
