This kinda looks like the Gorillaz style
PSA TIME
I'm really fixated on Roger especially after writing tbitg. He's an interesting character. A character which literally represents the evil of human beings. I'm sure Golding would argue with me but i (sometimes) think people are good at heart. Just somewhere on the inside.
Every action has a motive. It could be fear, love, anger, sometimes even just pleasure. All of those motives DO NOT make up for crimes. They should always be punished accordingly.
I'm saying all of this because the evil of man is usually a reminder that humans are still animals. Animals who have deeply fried instincts inside of them. I've been really thinking about this since I learned about the holocaust in LA. Started by an angry artist who decided that minorities shouldn't exist. Why did people agree with him? Because he sounded clever? Most likely. That's how Jack gained power.
Now just only a single person maybe agreed with this mustache model. Then it spread. That's when the instinct of grouping comes in. More and more people come together for a single negative cause because someone sounded clever. That also just so happened what happened with Jack as well. (Wow this got off track quickly um I'm getting there)
hrrrng uh maybe Jack is more similar to hitler than I thought but thats a psa for another time
What I'm trying to say is maybe Roger isn't just a soulless psychopath. After all he's still just a kid. Now I'm not trying to defend Rogers actions in anyway. In stressful situations, animal mode could be flipped on, which may explain Roger's sudden transition to violence. He is aware that hitting kids with rocks is wrong. He is aware that he would get in trouble.
Do you think Roger wants to feel freedom or because he is a psychopath?
Most likely the second one.
but here's a quote that would help me explain my thoughts better
"The terrifying reality is that we're biologically predisposed to violence in certain situations. Douglas Fields, neuroscientist and author of the book Why We Snap, says our brains have evolved to monitor for danger and spark aggression in response to any perceived danger as a defense mechanism. 'We all have the capacity for violence because in certain situations it's necessary for our survival,' he says.
"These responses have to be quick, so as to effectively deal with dangerous situations. The problem is, they can be overly sensitive. 'Of course it goes wrong [sometimes], just like any burglar alarm will have a misfire,' says Fields. 'Our brain never evolved to deal with the situations and threats encountered in that environment. The modern world presses on the defense mechanism circuitry in ways that can lead to misfires.'"

Basically maybe Roger is more sensitive to stressful situation so his animal switch was turned on early.
Uh thats it for today I hope I got all my thoughts onto paper whoopsie
