"So, what's new?" I questioned Ashton with raised eyebrows. I could tell that he knew that I was angry at something, so I prayed that he couldn't figure it out.
"Well, I found a dollar coin on the road today." He said. I rolled my eyes while scribbling down the sarcastic answer that he gave.
"And how did that make you feel?" I had asked him without meeting his gaze. I could tell that he was looking at me weirdly, so I let my hair out of its messy bun and let it fall around my face.
"What, are you a physiatrist now?" I knew that Ashton was joking with me, but to be honest, I wasn't in the mood for it. I was too upset with how we were acting. Calum swears that Ashton felt something other than hate towards me, but I really didn't see it. At most, he would see me as a little sister, but I highly doubt that he thinks of me so highly.
Why was I so worked up over him and what he thinks of me, anyways?
I sent him a death glare. His attitude wasn't appreciated at the moment.
Ashton raised his hands in mock surrender. "Good I guess. Geez, someone's PMSing."
I could feel the heat ride in my cheeks as he uttered those words. Out of frustration, I slapped my note pad down on my lap. "You know what? Just because a girl's a little grumpy doesn't mean that she's on her period, Ashton. You men can be so idiotic sometimes!"
He widened his eyes. "Well, aren't you just a ray of sunshine today! Who spat in your coffee?" He sputtered. I scowled at him, but it soon turned into a grin.
"I don't drink coffee." I tried to sound mad, but I knew that I was failing. While sighing, I ran a hand through my hair. Ashton was right. Even though he said it crudely, I was being over dramatic. "I'm sorry for getting mad."
Ashton shrugged my apology off, but then furrowed his eyebrows together. "Do you... Uhh... Do you want to talk about it?" He asked. I giggled.
"Calum just said some things. It's not important." I sighed. I placed my back against the brick wall of the building and sunk to the floor. While looking up, I saw that Ashton had copied my actions and sat beside me.
"Did he, uh, hurt your feelings?" He questioned while scratching the back of his head awkwardly. I could tell that he wasn't good with talking about feelings, or comforting people.
"No, I'm just kind of wondering what he meant." I said while pushing my hair behind my ear. I giggled when I turned my head and found that his face was a slight tinge of pink. "You sound so awkward."
He coughed while trying to keep his blush down. "I'm not really good with this whole feelings thing." He confessed. I snorted.
"Yeah, I can see that."
An awkward silence quickly fell over us. As I played with some loose strings on my ripped jeans, I noticed that Ashton was trying to stack little grey pebbles on top of each other. I noted that he does that quite a bit.
"So, uhh... Do you have any other questions for me?" He asked awkwardly while clearing his throat. I shrugged. "Do you, uhh, want to go on a walk then?" He stuttered. Again, I just shrugged, but then got up and brushed off my pants.
