Nico and Will walked down the streets of manhattan, hand in hand. It was a beautiful night, the street lights gave off a small romantic setting. They walked past a few apartments, they were planning to get one soon. They were out looking for good places to settle down while they attend college in the city. They saw something swinging past them, stopping to see what it was they could hear gunshots. 

Nico and Will took off running, towards the sounds. Some weird thing- person? Was swinging and sticking to the walls. Will was of course in the right headspace and decided to record the thing. 

"Aw come on man." They heard the person in the weird suit say.

"KIll the Spiderman!" the leader of some gang roared.

"Man, I got finals soon. I have to study, so how about we make this quick." He retorted Nico thought he sounded like a younger Percy. Maybe Magnus, sarcastically stupid.

"I said kill him!" Gunshots rang through the air, they could hear a bullet hit flesh. "Good, now finish him off." The man of spiders stood up wearily.

"Man, can't I just take my finals? After that, you can kill me cause I'm pretty sure I'm going to fail."

Nico stepped out of the lurking shadows and placed his hand to the ground. The ground rumbled as skeletons made their way up from the ground. You could hear the surprised cries from the gang.

"You won't be killing anyone," Nico spoke darkly.

"Who are you?"

Nico lifted his arms, tenderails of darkness evolved around him. They lashed out, grabbing the legs of the people. "Haven't you heard? I am the Ghost King." You could see the faces of the damned in the shadows. The cries of the dead that whistled in the wind.

"Stay back." they stuttered. 

"Begone!" one tried to crucify. 

Nico just laughed a dark laugh, he snapped his fingers and waved his hand towards the Man of Spiders. The Spiders of Man flinched, the skeletons held their ground in front of him in a matter of protection.

Will was still videotaping from a distance, that video was going to look badass. The gang people ran away with their tails between their legs. Nico laughed, his laugh echoed through the street. He cleared his throat and clapped his hands. Everything dissapated, he was laughing again at the gang running.

"Will! Did you see their faces? Wow, that was funny."

He made his way over to the man of spiders who was covering his face as Nico approached. "Um? Medic!" Nico cried to Will, Will pocketed his phone and made his way towards Nico. He ran a hand over the body.

"Wow, you're very bruised, you're going to need some serious medical attention. We should get you to the hospital."

"No! No hospitals, I can't exactly pay for that. I mean I could but we'd be in debt and-"

"Shut up," Nico whispered.

"Shutting up." 

Nico and Will were conversing without speaking. You could see their hands moving and their expressions but no sound came out. It's weird to look at, you'd think they were telepathic. In reality, they've had this sort of conversation before and already know what to say to each other.

"Um, who are you, people?"

"Haven't you heard-" Nico began before Will shot him a look. "Sorry, My name is Nico."
