-On the Road-
"You sure about going to LA?." My mom asked getting into the car.
"Yes mom, dad already talked to me it's only four hours away from y'all." I said robotic this was at least my hundredth time repeating myself to everyone about me leaving. I'm 20 years old I'll survive.
"Alright well I hope this new change brings you nothing but happiness because I feel like , you get shot one mo time you ain't coming back." She said laughing. My mom was going through chemo again they found more cancer in her so when I left Jamal I stayed with her but now it's time for me to go.
"Really?" I said sarcastic.
"yeah really, Seven you ain't invisible so I advise you to stay a focus virgin." She said then began coughing I rubbed her back but she waved me off.
"Who said I was a virgin.and I'm grown."
"Still ain't legal to drink."
"Whatever. Mom you good?"
"Yes Seven as a human I will cough."
"But you have cancer-" I said retiring as if came out.
"I beat it! Them doctors just trying to get me bankrupt." she said but Im the one who payed for everything over half a million, with my underground money plus my job checks went to keep her get healthy but she still want to make excuses.
"You must miss Grandpa. Not taking this serious I bet your gonna see him real soon."
"I said I am gone pay you back."She began coughing again and I comforted her good thing I was driving. So I turned back home.
"I never mentioned money. And your clearly not okay."
"What are you doing your going the wrong way."
"Im not having you drive back in this condition."
"Seven damit !"
"What?"
"I'm not your child. That inheritance could've covered me."
"Here you go."
"He was my dad but left me nothing."
"Ridiculous is how your sounding, so since he left no money he left nothing ?"
"I'm not saying that , But you spent money you earned which was twice probably twice what he left you."
"Okay your point... It does not matter as both money looks the same."
After a hour drive back to her house Jason took her to her room I told him about her coughing and avoiding the hospital and he said he'll look out for her and make sure she takes her meds.
When Taylor finally came, me and Jason left out for the road. I missed orientation but I have my dorm and schedule plus I already had a tour so ill survive.
"Okay sis han actually glad you going here me an Taylor went two years as transfers"
"Really, why was mom tripping about me then?"
"I don't know to be honest but you got a Co ed dorm or what."
"Coed?!"
"Yep me an Taylor got paired luckily."
"Damn I ain't even know."
"Yeah but that doesnt matter it's a nice school and gave really good housing and food hella good parties."
"Sounds fun."
"Why you sounding sad for sis?"
"Im not sad."
"Imma talk to mom okay, stay focused alright."
"Alright."
I woke up to us driving in the rain.
"Damn it's coming down pretty bad you need to pull over?"
"No I'm good."
"Alright." thirty more minutes of us driving it cleard up. I rolled my window down for some fresh air.
Then I heard a honk on the side of me my me.
"Aye ma you bad as fuck." I heard I didn't look at them I just rolled my eyes.
"What the fuck they say?" Jason said gripping the wheel next thing I know I'm holding to my seat for dear life.
"Jason stop this not fast and furious man!" I yelled crying. I don't want to die in a damn car.
I looked over to the other guys laughing a dark skin guy with a curly hair driving and I couldn't really see the other guys.
Finally they stopped but we were still driving in the same direction.
"Im sorry Seven." He said laughing.
"Aint Shit funny Jason you could've killed my black ass. 20 year girl dies in a car race."
"Calm down you can't tell me that wasn't fun."
"Fun doesn't make you cry, Jason!"
He laughed even harder.
"Just wait till we pull over." I said under my breath. It was now dark out and we made it to LA but we just stayed at a hotel until the morning.
"Okay get up."
"I wasn't sleep." I said we got out of the car and I punched him.
"Ouche what was that for."
"Making me car. And this is for putting me in danger." He held his arm and smacked his teeth.
I payed for are room and got clean sheets from the desk.
"Ill sleep on the pull out since you drove. I would pay for two beds but that's to much."
"Aww thanks sis."
"Your welcome."
