Anna listened to me, word by word. Tears had once again made their way in my life. Anna gasped when she came to know that I was molested at the hotel.
"Oh my God," she whispered. I didn't dare to look in her eyes. I couldn't gain the strength to neither was I feeling comfortable to confront her eyes.
I felt her arms wrap around my thin body.
"I'm so so sorry Stee. I'm so sorry you had to go through it." More tears trickled down my cheeks. I continued to sob in her arms. Her warmth made me feel better. I didn't realise I was missing her this much in the past days.
A few minutes passed by until I finally calmed down. I parted away and wiped my tears as she continued to look at me.
I half smiled at her, trying to cheer up.
She rubbed my back, " you're so brave. I'm so proud of you."
"Really?" my nose had began to run by now as I sniffed.
"Yeah," she said.
"About work.. ," she paused. I looked up to her face.
"Do you want to continue? I mean if you want to quit I have it all wrapped up so don't worry about a new place yeah?"
"I know Anna. Thank you for saying that."
I hadn't given a thought to working at a new place. I was okay with working at the hotel. The pay was too tempting to let go. The work was a lot but so was it at the cafe I previously worked for and the other confectionatries I had joined before.
"So.. Do you.. Want to change your workplace?" she asked.
I thought for a while if that's what I really wanted or if that's what could help me be at ease than my current state.
"I think I'm fine for now. If I ever need your help, I'll let you know."
She smiled at me," Sure!"
"Ice creams?" she questioned.
"Let's go."

.I spent the weekend with Anna but after two days, it was work again.
Ethan would now and then tease me about getting in his trap of a birthday lunch which would piss me off of course. The staff was as usual busy in their work. We were informed that the hotel would again recruit new people since they were falling short of quality workers. I so hoped for Anna to join. I informed her over a call but she declined the offer. She said that she was pretty happy with the normal cafe, which made me think if I wasn't? Ofcourse that was never the case. If it wasn't for money, I would have worked somewhere peacefully.
The week passed by and the new staff were introduced to us. The memory of my first day at work began to play in my brain. It was like going back to the start.
Ethan had now a substitute under him, more like an apprentice. Noah was a sweet kid. He was innocent, unable to differentiate good and bad people even after he had grown up so much. He had told me that he lived with his family. Life seemed to be good to him. I was in a way jealous of his happiness, but I was happy for him. Atleast someone was living happily.
Myra, a new girl was also recruited along the new members. Her basic task was to get me orders in time so that I could act accordingly. Thanks to her that I didn't need to travel alone in a lift. I had told her about my fear of being in a lift and she voluntarily agreed to accompany me on my way if I ever needed to use it. She was a sweet girl, a few years younger than me and the first ever person to come on friendly terms with me except Ethan. Maybe, we could become great friends in future.
