Chapter 6: Tripped

I had spring break the next week so i didn't have to go to school like Jason did. I was flipping through the channels on my TV and couldn't find anything good so i turned it off and hopped out of bed. I threw on ripped skinny jeans, a rainbow dash t-shirt, and my red converse. I texted Lindsey

ME: Wanna go see a movie?

LINDSEY: Sure which one

ME: There's a mocking jay showing in an hour

LINDSEY: K i'll meet ya there

I walked downstairs and got some breakfast. My dad walked in and sat down across from me. "Hey," I said. I was getting a lot more comfortable around him now. "Hello, Dani. Any plans for today?" I nodded "I'm going to the movies with Lindsey," I said. He nodded i finished my breakfast and got up "See ya!" I said walking out of the room.

I was walking towards the movie theater when i tripped. A boy that was walking the other direction steadied me putting his hands on my shoulders "Careful," he said. "Oh thanks," I said trying to regain my balance but i ended up tripping again (gosh i'm such a klutz) he caught my arm again. I finally stood up and saw his face he had light blue eyes and blonde hair that almost passed his ears but didn't. I smiled at him he smiled back at me and realized he still had a grip on my arm he quickly let go. "Thanks," I said blushing. He blushed to "No problem," We just kind of stared at each other not knowing what to say "Alright well i'm gonna go now," I said awkwardly. "Uh okay," He said and we passed each other. "Who was that?" Lindsey asked when i got to the ticket booth I opened my mouth to say his name but i realized he never told me "I'm not sure i just tripped and he caught me," I shrugged and we went in to the movie.

For the next few days i kept seeing him around because he apparently worked at the mall. Everytime he saw me he would quickly look away and blush. On thursday Lindsey, Colleen, the twins, and i were at the mall when Lindsey nudged me "That kid totally has a crush on you," She said giggling. "What no he doesn't!" I said. Everyone rolled there eyes and laughed "What?!?" Colleen laughed "It's obvious you both like each other," I shook my head quickly "I have a boyfriend!" They all laughed at me "That doesn't mean anything!" Said Becca. I looked over at Lizzie "What do you think Lizzie?" She held up her hands in mock surrender "Don't bring me into this," I laughed "There Lizzie doesn't think so!" I said defensively "I didn't say that," Lizzie said. "Who's side are you on?" I asked. "No ones!" She said quickly.

On Saturday morning a few weeks later i walked down to the dining room and the maid handed me my mail. There were letters from Sarah and Jason and an issue of one of my favorite magazines. I gasped when i saw the cover.
