Chapter 19: Hurt Again For A Boy

I stood there with my jaw dropped as i watched Summer finish kissing the boy that broke my heart. "Whats wrong?" Gabi asked. So you're probably wondering why Gabi and Summer didn't know about Jason. They moved away when we were 14 and i told them i had a boyfriend the few times i did talk to them but they had never met him so they didn't know. "Jason is my recent ex." I whispered to Gabi. Gabi frowned "Really?!? What happened?" I looked at her sadly "He cheated on me and tried to take advantage of my because i was rich." Gabi shook her head furiously "Summer can't date him that can't happen to her." Gabi whispered. Summer walked over hand in hand with Jason while they looked into each others eyes like in a sappy movie. Jason still hadn't seen me. When they got closer they finally both looked our way and sheer terror passed over his features when he saw an angry me standing there. "What's wrong babe?" Summer asked him realizing his face. He didn't respond he just let go of her hand and looked at his feet. "Jason, baby, what's wrong with you?" Summer asked concerned. "Yeah Jason what's wrong with you?" I asked harshly. Summer looked at me and back to Jason then back to me a look of understanding crossed over her face "Did you guys..." She trailed off. "Date? Yeah." Summer looked back at Jason "What happened?" She asked. "Tell her Jason." I said. He just shook his head. "He cheated on my and tried to take advantage of me!" Summer looked hurt. "Is that true?" She asked. He shook his head harshly. "No she cheated on me and i broke up with her!" Summer now directed her hurt towards me. "Wow Dani you lied to be just because you didn't want me with your ex!" I gaped at her. "No! He's the one that's lying! Do you really trust him more than me!?!" Summer nodded. "I love him! I can't believe you lied to me!" I didn't respond i just pushed passed her and ran out of the small diner and away from the judgmental glares of everyone inside.

When i got to Sarah's house her brother was there again but this time he was alone. "Hey Dani what's wrong?" He asked concern laced in his voice. "Summer is dating my ex and now she hates me!" I sobbed. He scooped me up into a hug and for some reason it made my heart flutter. It felt right being in his arms and i remembered the last time we hugged i was like 9 and i had fallen and scraped my knee. Sarah quickly ran in before i got to hug him for long with Gabi in toe. "Oh my gosh Dani are you okay? I tried explaining to Summer that you were right but she refused to listen!" Sarah said slamming the front door. "I'm fine." I said pulling away from Stephen. "I'm so sorry she did that she's just blind right now." Gabi said. "It's okay she's in denial." I said Gabi shook her head. "It's not okay she's a terrible friend i remember when Cally did something like that to you." Gabi said. My thoughts flashed to Cally. She was an old friend that i hadn't talked to in a while. I had had a boyfriend named Cole but we broke up because he was trying to pressure me into sex and i told him i wouldn't have sex until after marriage. A few months later Cally called me and told me that they were dating and that they had been for weeks. "It's not the same Cally knew about Cole, Summer has no idea." We all decided to go to a movie and sleep at the hotel right outside of town with Gabi since Summer was apparently staying with Jason. That night as i was talking with the girls my phone rang. It was my dad. "Hello." I said answering the phone ready for the yelling that was about to come. "Danielle why did you just leave out of the blue? Why didn't you say I nodded even though he couldn't see me. "That's why." I said. "Dani when will you be back?" He asked. "I don't know i just need some time." I said. "Okay well let me know when you find out i need to know soon." He said. "Okay." And with that i ended the call and went to bed.
