Chapter 10: Fear

I woke up next to Lindsey, her and i got the bed Colleen, Lizzie, and becca crashed in sleeping bags on the floor. I yawned and it took me a second to realize my ringing phone is what woke me up. I took it off Lindsey's nightstand and answered it "Hello?" I said yawning. "Dani, where are you?" It was my dad i groaned it was 9 am what could he possibly want?! "Lindsey's what do you want?" I asked annoyed "I need you to go with Kyle to-" I hung up, put my phone on silent, plugged my phone back in, and rolled over to go back to sleep. I woke up again at 11. Colleen and Becca were also awake. "Morning!" They said cheerfully. "Morning!" I replied sitting back up. "So we tried to get in your phone and realized you had 6 missed calls from your dad and then he called again and we answered. He said he needed you and Kyle to go on a date tonight and we told him you already were." I yawned and sat up "What did he say?" I asked groggily "He said that was good." I rolled my eyes of course he would think that instead of being suspicious that i easily agreed to going on a date. Jerk. "How did you talk when you talked to him." Becca busted out laughing "It was the first time i had ever heard Colleen speak sourly to someone and it was AWESOME she's very talented." Colleen raised an eyebrow "Um, thanks, i think." She said and Becca and i laughed. Lindsey threw a pillow at me and groaned "Keep it down!" That just made us laugh harder waking Lizzie up also. "You three are unbelievable!" Lindsey said trying to be dramatic but failing laughing so hard. We decided to go to the mall since i had to miss out on Friday and we shopped for hours. Finally it was time for me to go get ready for my date and i was terrified. We drove back to my house but when she pulled up and stopped so i could get out i froze. "You'll be fine Dani i promise! Call us if it get's out of hand here let's do code words if it gets uncomfortable send the word Apple if it gets to where he might hurt you send the word..." She paused to think of a word "DOCTOR!" Becca said from the back seat and i laughed. "Okay those are the codewords!" I said getting out of the car. "Call us if theres an emergency!" Lindsey said. I nodded and walked in.

I got on a short dress and a leather jacket and i caked makeup on my face. I didn't enjoy actually getting ready for this jerk but i was still shocked about the phone call and i didn't want to find out what he looked like when he was truly angry. I walked downstairs "You look nice." My dad said attempting to get me to talk. I shot him a look 'I will not budge until you budge so quit trying' I thought. the doorbell rang and i crossed my arms waiting for my dad to answer it. "Hello Mr.Mcary," He grinned his business grin "Hello Kyle heres Dani." He said stepping out of the way i walked out the door and to the lamborghini Kyle had drove here. I opened up the door being sure to slam it as i got in. "Watch the car!" Kyle said hopping in. I frowned the way you see needy girlfriends do in movies "I'm sorry i didn't know you cared more about your car then me!" I said in the whiniest tone i could stand. He heaved a sigh "Stop it i know this isn't you and i know you don't want to date me but you need to suck it up because you don't have a choice so smile and act like i'm the best thing that's ever happened to you." Kyle said sternly. Well there goes my plan to get him to break up with me. "If you know i don't want to date you then why are you dating me?" I asked. "Because your hot and you will want to date me soon." My jaw dropped Oh no he did not! "You think you're so amazing well guess what sweet heart your not!" I complained. He gave me the scariest look ever "Remember what i said last night babe." He said pulling into the parking lot of a restaurant "I thought we were going to a movie." I said quietly. "Your dad says we need to go into the open." He said getting out of the car. I got out with him and walked up to the restaurant. My dad better be glad he has an actor for a doctor. I slipped my fingers in him as we walked in the restaurant and i laughed as if he had said something funny, "I have a reservation under Grove." He said walking up to the lady at the front. "Right this way!" She said beaming at us. She walked us over and we sat down across from each other. I noticed eyes on us and looked around. People were looking at us expectantly i got nervous and Kyle got up and slid next to me on my booth. He took my face in his hands and quickly swept his lips over mine then he slightly pulled of to where our lips were still touching. "What are you doing?" I squeaked. "Giving them a show." He whispered back kissing me again and then pulling away. When he did people could see my face again so i looked in to Kyle's eyes and gave a huge smile as he went back to his own booth.

Finally we exited the restaurant and into his car he turned to me "See you love me!" He said. "I was acting nit wit." He grabbed my wrist and pulled it forward to where i was inches from his face "Listen little brat this is not happening you understand you will not call me names and you will act how i want you to got it?" He asked. He had a tight grip on my arm squeezing it hardly and it hurt "Yes!" I squeaked in fear "Good and don't tell your dad about this!" He said letting go of my wrist. I nodded and looked at my wrist as he began to drive away. I rubbed my wrist and looked out the window frowning.
