Highschool in of itself is stressful. Let alone a hero school. Kirishima wants this to be an amazing year with a new start. Obviously starting with his newly dyed hair. Some of Kiri's old classmates were at UA so he didn't feel completely lonely. But there's just something missing. The popular boy didn't apply to UA, or any hero school for that matter, too lazy to. So kirishima had to find someone to replace his hug-shaped hole. Mina likes to hug, and kami is okay with "No homo" cuddling, but its just not the same.
Kirishima has made it his job to meet and hug every person in class 1-A. Here's his notes on the matter
Aoyama- navel lazer is kinda uncomfortable, also too weird with it
Mina- calming, motherly-like
Asui- similar to hugging a frog, but a girl. No other factors
Iida- stiff
Uraraka- kinda like hugging a cloud. Doesn't use her quirk, but her hugs are still light
Ojiro- its actually fun to hug his tail. Generally pretty normal
Kaminari- bro-like
Koda- was too uncomfortable to hug, try later
Sato- very manly. Smelled very sweet
Shoji- the arms helped comfort, but no swinging, which was sad
Jiro- short hugs, but I heard music playing, also she blushes at any signs of affection
Sero- tape arms are pretty strong
Tokoyami- beak poked me in the eye the first time
Todoroki- wondering if I could ask him to heat up a little...
Hagakure- little awkward. Kinda like hugging solid air, oddly warm tho
Bakugou- wasn't able to hug
Midoriya- very very awkward. Probably won't change much
Mineta- too short
Yaoyorozu- very gentle
Overall no one can compare to his hug..
Maybe bakugou can change that?
