Harry.
That name tasted so sweet in your mouth.
It was like its own poem that you couldn't help but reciting over and over.
Our director had found our guys. The exact people that nobody expected.I had seen Harry around school, heard his name mentioned once or twice, but I never really paid much attention to his existence. He was just another face in the crowded hallways. Just another overly popular, privileged, football playing jerk, with way too much power in our schools popularity system.
As the recruits made their way into the theatre, Harry's eyes met mine in a lock so powerful I didn't feel my heart beating. It was only seconds but those seconds felt like eternity.
He had the biggest smile on his face.. It was almost strange that he would be happy to be here. "maybe its the bonus points." I thought to myself.
"Nice to meet you all, I'm Harry."
His voice flowed like water and even though it was deep, it was soft. Soothing. I could feel my heart racing. My breathing was slightly heavier than normal. I could feel my friends giving me weird looks but I didn't even care. Harry was stunning. I don't know how I didn't notice him before.I snapped into action as soon as my director called me on stage to start reading lines. And of course, Harry was cast as my love interest.
As we read through our lines the class grew silent, paying attention to every word we spoke. Anytime we would look up from our scripts our eyes met and I could feel my heart stop. His eyes. I could write books about his eyes. They were the softest green. They made you feel calm. They made you feel safe.As soon as the scene was done there was a pause before the normal "applause of approval" as I like to call it. The class was over and we all scurried along to our other classes, except for me. I stood in the theatre alone and took in everything that just happened. I didn't understand how mere eye contact could make a person feel so alive.
I had myself convinced that the chemistry was only acting. My heart knew better.
