"Then, Charlie corners Adam, who stumbles over and drops to the groun. Charlie pulls out his knife, and holds it close to Adam's face as he bends down over him," I spoke aloud as I struggled to keep my own pace as I jotted down the notes.
"In a really raspy, twisted voice, he says, 'I like your eyes. Do you mind?' As the shot closes in, suddenly it flashes to a shot of... of birds, or bats, or some creature of the night, flying away and you just hear a blood-curdling scream!" Liam finished.
"YES! Oh my god, this is going to be such a great short. I can't wait to see if anyone else will have taken their lines out of context like we have," I said, smiling.
"I almost hope they don't," Liam remarked. I looked at him, confused. "Well, I just mean, if nobody else does, we kind of look that much better, you get what I'm saying?" I nodded my head to show I understood, and then finished off my coffee.
"So, do you want me to type up a draft tonight, and then I can email it to you like, tomorrow?" I asked.
"I can type it up, if you want. I really don't mind. I don't have any other work to do, so I mean it'll give me a purpose," Liam said, smiling. Genuinely smiling.
"Okay, I mean if that's alright with you! I have a lot of stuff for my other classes, so I would really appreciate that," I smiled back. There was a certain charm to the way Liam spoke, and in the way he composed himself. I guess I hadn't noticed it until he apologized for being stubborn.
"Yeah, no problem at all," he responded.
I handed him the notebook pages, and gave him back the sketches we'd been looking over. "Just in case tou want to add or change anything," I smiled again.
~~ Liam's POV ~~
We both packed up our bags and braced ourselves for the chilly fall air outside. I pulled the scarf out of my bag. Sarah must have caught a glimpse of it from the corner of her eye.
"Hey! You found my scarf," Sarah exclaimed.
I stared at the scarf a moment before I remembering where I'd actually found it. "Oh, yeah. It was left in Griffin's class as I was leaving, I picked it up because I wasn't sure whether it was yours or not. I guess it is," I smiled, handing it over to her.
"I guess I was so worried about being late for my other class, I forgot all about it! You're the best, Liam. Thank you for grabbing it before someone else could!" she exclaimed.
"Haha, yeah don't worry about it. It was not big deal, I just figured someone would be looking for it," I said. "Do you want to walk back to campus together, or were you... not..."
"Oh," Sarah said. "Actually, I'm not. I was thinking about getting some dinner. It's, what... almost 7? And I haven't had much to eat, so yeah."
"Oh, that's fine. No, that's great," I started stumbling over my words.
"Well. I mean, you're welcome to join me if you want," she offered.
"Uhh.. yeah! Yeah, sure, that'd be great, actually. I'm pretty hungry too," I smiled. I held the door open for her. It wasn't a long walk to Jimmy John's, the little sandwich place near campus. We ordered our food to carry out, and decided to head back to the dorms.
When we reached the diag, Sarah said goodbye and she wished me a good evening.
"And to you, Sarah," I said, softly, as she headed back to her building. There was definitely something captivating about that girl. And try as hard as I might, I still couldn't place it. Admittedly, I felt like an ass about being so arrogant throughout the day, but I think the night ended on a good note. I might not know a lot about her, but I knew that I was excited to be working with Sarah on this project.
