A/N: this is the nicest, most cute, most incredible, best chapter i have ever written :) you guys are going to love this one, it's going to be your favourite.
I opened my eyes.
My body hurt like crazy, my head was aching. I woke up in an unfamiliar room, the walls were light blue and the bed I was laying in was white. That's when I realised, I had bandages all over my body.
My stomach was absolutely throbbing in pain, along with my pelvis and lower back. But those were just what hurt the most. My entire body was aching of pain. My face, my chest, my arms, my legs. I felt like letting tears stream from my eyes and down my cheeks. The memories of what happened came back to me - I had fallen down the stairs. This must be a hospital, then.
I don't remember how I fell, all I remember is falling. I remember losing my balance, and I remember each individual stair banging into me and cutting into my frail skin. My body was not strong enough to take those 60 metal stairs, I was not able to stop myself from falling.
I'm covered in bandages. At this hospital yet again, I see. Great. Just what I needed.
What happened? I'm usually so careful with stairs. I can't believe I was so incredibly clumsy... what's wrong with me?
"Oli..."
One of the most familiar voices in the world could be heard through my ears. I looked next to me to see Josh, my baby. He looked so hurt. His seeable eye was the most red and puffy I had ever seen it, his lips were trembling like crazy, and his face was soaked with tears. His hair looked like it had been constantly pulled, was he doing that to himself?
I reached for him, but immediately stopped once I realised how much pain that put me in and I whined. I'm so fucking dumb.
"Josh.." I spoke, causing my baby to give me a shaky smile, but it certainly wasn't a happy one. He touched my index finger with his. I feel like I've broken bones.
"Oli... I..." He placed a small kiss on the tip of my finger. "How.. how did you.. I wasn't there to stop you, I'm so.. I'm so sorry.."
"It's okay, baby.." It was absolutely not his fault. It was my fault for being so careless and clumsy. I could have stopped myself from grabbing onto the bar. "I'll be fine.." I think.
"No, Oli.. if I was there for you, then.." Josh's eyes looked like they were pleading. He was interrupted by an opening door, in walked a woman in nurses uniform.
She gave me a small smile, walking over to me. "Hi," She spoke quietly, giving Josh a little look before focusing her eye contact on me. She checked some of the wires connected to me before opening her mouth to speak to me. "Oliver Sykes, right?"
"Y-Yeah.." I felt the nerves start to hit me again, I didn't like talking to new people is all. I wonder how long I'm going to be in pain for?
"My name is Nurse Karen, it's nice to meet you. I have something to tell you.. would you like your partner to be in the room to listen in too?" She asked, I nodded. I felt anxiety hit me. She sounded deadly serious. With a little nod and an upset little smiled, she continued to speak. "We're.. so sorry.."
She stopped speaking there. I felt a little mad, since she was so slow in telling me. "What is it?" I asked, hoping it wasn't too bad.
"You... unfortunately, during the accident, you have broken some bones, which should recover soon. But..." She sighed slightly, her expression was one of sympathy. "You unfortunately miscarried because of the accident. We're so very, very sorry."
Time stopped.
This has to be a joke.
No, she can't be serious. She has to be pranking me.
