Light

With a chisel in hand,
You slowly broke down my walls.
They caved in all around me,
And yet you stayed.
You did not look disgusted at the dark creature that sat before you,
You simply knelt down
And pulled me to my feet.
Showed me what the world looked like outside of my self made imprisonment.
Showed me what living was like,
Taught me to dance to our song.
Introduced me to so many new concepts.
Told me you'd never leave me.
"I just went through all that trouble to get through to you, why would I just leave?"
After a while
I started to believe you.
And life wasn't lonely anymore.
It was not a cold dark place,
Because your light shined brightest.
But I was right.
You left.
And what am I suppose to do now?
I had become accustomed to a light,
How will I find my way in the dark?
My walls took years to construct,
How will I rebuild them from the dust you left behind?
How will I exist with out you?
"You'll get through this, you're strong."
But I'm not.
