"The Story Begins"
Ellesmere, the majestic and splendid kingdom was ruled by the royal family of the Manoban. It was the definition of grandeur and exquisiteness. It was vast, and had many wonders one being the Lake Agnes whose crystal clear water shines beautifully under the moonlight. Not only did the kingdom look enchanting but it was also one of the most powerful and prosperous kingdoms. All other kingdoms looked for an opportunity to make an alliance with the glorious kingdom and the first thing which comes on their mind is a matrimonial alliance. Everyone waited for the news of the birth of an alluring princess of Ellesmere with bewitching beauty and when it happened, it turned into a devastating but hopeful story.
The tale of the lost princess of Ellesmere was one that never went unheard and is still talked about.
March 27 was a date to remember. It was the date when the Queen had finally given birth to a daughter, an heir. She looked so precious with her milky skin, big sparkling eyes, and rosy cheeks. She shined with the lustre of an opal. The whole kingdom celebrated and welcomed the little princess but little did they know the happy times would end soon.
The news of an attack spread like wildfire. The King was very unnerved and agitated with the idea of a trusted ally starting a war against him. A
few days later, the castle was attacked. Soldiers failed to defend the entrance and they broke in. It came in like a wrecking ball and caused destruction everywhere. The Queen feared for her new born child's life and ordered her most trusted lady-in-waiting Anne to escape and bring her daughter to safety. It was a heartbreaking decision for the Queen to make. Her heart ached but she had to let go off her daughter for her well-being and safety.
The Queen packed a bag with money, clothes, food and other essentials. She also handed over a gleaming silver necklace with a L-shaped pendant encrusted with diamonds and ordered Anne to give this to the princess and tell her the truth about her identity when she turns eighteen. She also informed Anne that she had named her daughter Lalisa meaning the one who is praised, noble and a gift of God.
The Queen walked over to the life-sized bookshelf in her bedroom and opened the secret door designed in such a way that it leads straight to the forest through a hidden passage.
With one last kiss on her daughter's head, she bid her goodbyes and saw the disappearing figure of Anne. The last thing Anne heard was the loud sound of door being opened and armed men coming in. Anne teared up and swore to herself that she wouldn't let the Queen's sacrifice go to waste.
Luckily, Ellesmere won the war which lasted for weeks but lost its precious little princess. No one knew what happened to the princess and where was she, all they knew was that either the princess was somewhere safe or maybe dead.
This is how the story ends or should I say begins.....
