I had know mick since the day I was born, we grew up as best friends even when he started traveling for racing, we still stayed in contact and face timed almost every day.
As we grew older we saw less for each other,I was studying in the states now, which meant I never had been to his races, honestly, it was hard to speak face to face, as in the last couple years I had developed feelings for Mick,I knew deep down he would never feel the same for me, our friends for years had made the joke that we liked each other but he would always laugh and say he would never date me.
Since it was my birthday I was back home in Switzerland,I organized for my friends to come over to my parent's house nothing special.
All my friends had arrived, we were sitting outside in the garden, when I heard the door ring,I stood up and went to answer the door. Opening the door Mick was standing there smiling.
"Mick?"-I said shocked
"Happy birthday," he said then he pulled me into a tight hug,I hadn't seen him in 7 months now.
"Thank you, come in "
We walked into the kitchen to get him a drink, then we joined the others.
Hours had passed we had laughed, drunk and opened some gifts, everyone had left except Mick, he offered to help clean up since my parents were on a business trip.
"You can go, Mick, I 'm fine to finish cleaning up."
"It's fine and you haven't opened my gift "
"You got me a gift?"
"Of course I did sit down"
I sat down at the breakfast bar beside Mick when he handed me a small gift bag, inside was a small box, inside was a bracelet, it was silver with a heart charm on it.
"Its beautiful Mick, you didn't have to "
"I saw it and thought of you"
"Thank you"-I pulled him into a hug, the bracelet was the most beautiful I had ever been given.
"You're welcome "
"You know you didn't have too"
We sat and talked for a while.
"Y/N have you ever had feelings for me ?"
"Yes once an upon a time "
"And what about now ?"
"What do you mean ?"
"I never told you this but I released how much I liked you "
