Candice places her contacts in her eyes, not feeling in the mood for her glasses once again. It was a new day, the day after Elias basically left her putty in his arms, to be exact.
Candice then sat comfortably on her bed before picking up her phone and dialed Elias' number.
The phone rang in her ear; once, twice, three times, and then on the fourth, a breathless Elias answered.
"Hello?" He breathed out. Candice could hear a bit of ruffling in the background before there was utter silence.
"Hey, it's me, Candice," Candice spoke in a soft voice. She twirled her hair around her finger distractedly as she continued. "What are you up to?"
Elias sighed at the sound of her voice and threw the tiny towel around his neck, "Just working out when you called," Candice noticed that his breathing began to slow down.
She bit her lip, "I'm sorry to interrupt you," She cringed. "I just wanted to ask you something."
Elias hummed for her to continue and that simple action caused Candice to shudder at the sound.
"My parents are going to dinner later this evening," She cleared her throat. "And I was wondering if you'd like to maybe... join us? Along with your family?" Candice gripped tightly onto her cellphone as she awaited an answer. "If you're up for it, that is." She quickly added on in a shaky voice.
Elias nearly chuckled at her mishap. She sounded nervous as fuck. He hadn't seen or talked to Candice since the day prior and wondered if it was such a good idea to see her after what happened.
He thought that he had a lot of self-control, but around Candice, that had proven to be quite difficult. He supposed around both of their parents that the job would be easy and he could be civil.
"I'm up for it," He snatched his bottle of water from the side of him and took a quick gulp. "I'm sure my family will be too," He clarified.
Candice released a breath, "Great!" She jumped up from her bed. "Dress fancy. I'll text you the venue and time, see you there!" She replied giddily before cutting the line.
Elias pulled the phone away from his ear slightly shocked before smiling shortly and afterward, getting back to lifting his weights.
"Elias! Your sweat will be dripping all over this room! Why didn't you shower first?" His mother began to throw a fit as she sat up from her place in the chair.
Elias nearly rolled his eyes at his mother's exaggeration. He leaned against the door frame and stared into Maryam's eyes while folding his arms.
His eyes moved over to his father and silently greeted him.
