She sits in her book room looking along the shelves for the next book she wants to read. Her parents send her loads of books but she never has the time to read them she leads a very busy life. She's finally found a few minutes to be able to read by herself. Her boyfriends at work down the street she's been alone for a while and she loves it, she misses her boyfriend but they both enjoy their alone time. She makes her way to the kitchen she generally eats when she's reading. It's a habit she developed and she hasn't eaten today so she'll prepare herself some fruits and then find a book to read. "Good morning Jamie!" She giggles at her security guard. James is her best friend and she is the only person in the world who's allowed to call him Jamie. They've known each other since she was thirteen so they've created a bond that no one else can come close to meeting.
"Morning Dylan, Shawn left you a bowl of assorted fruits in the fridge." He points. She smiles at the bowl and giggles at the way he's cut all of the fruits for her. He knows her too well. "He also left you a book on the counter and a note with it." He chuckles. "I was watching him last night Dylan. Maybe he won't say the words to you but he loves you. He held your waist tightly to make sure that if anything happened you at least had a fighting chance." James smiles at her while she sits next to him. He hugs her close. He has never been so impressed with any of Dylan's decisions. He is amazed at how much her boyfriend loves and cares for her to the point where he woke up early before his shift to prepare her a snack and get her a book that she liked. "I like him a lot more than I ever liked Gerald." He chuckles.
"I do too. He really might be my new best friend Jamie!" She giggles opening her book. James pokes her sides and she laughs swatting at his hands shutting her book once again. "Jamie!" She whines and he chuckles bringing her closer and hugging her.
"He is the only person in the world I can live with fighting me for my spot." He smiles kissing her forehead. "You are going to marry this man, mark my words Dylan." He teases making her smile. She leans her head on his shoulder munching on her fruits and reading her book. She's been waiting to read this book and Shawn knew so he left it for her. She's in constant awe of the man she's decided to be with.
"Mind If I steal your spot?" Shawn mumbles making James smile. Dylan looks up at smiles at her boyfriend. "I didn't want to bother you bug. I just wanted to hold you while you read." He smiles kissing her temple.
"Bye Jamie!" She waves while he leaves giving her boyfriend the space. "How was work?" She smiles shutting her book making him wince. He never wanted her to stop reading she looked so peaceful. He can only imagine how long she'd been sitting there she got halfway through the book she had never touched before.
"It was okay. I missed you though." He smiles as does she. "If you explain to me what's happened so far I'll read with you." He smiles lifting her up and grabbing the book from the counter. There are certain places he likes to be when he's with her. He knows that if they're in the living room the closest to someone else being there would be a knock on the door, so he likes being in the living room. The screening room is usually empty so he'll cuddle her there as well. Their bedroom is easily the best place but he has various other places around the house that are practically his territory. She hates cuddling him in clothes. They don't sleep with their clothes on and she finds that the cuddles are better. She always feels more connected to him when their skin is touching. That's her favourite thing to do even when it was Gerald though he wasn't around much. Every time he visited she made it a point to lay with him in nothing but underwear so that they could feel closer. It's supposed to help strengthen a bond but it never worked with her and Gerald.
"Really?" He sets her down and looks at her soft eyes. She looks as though she might cry. Last night they both fell asleep before they got a chance to pick a book. They got caught up talking and then they were sleeping. She figured it was just his way of saying that he hates reading or that he didn't want to read with her. As much as she does other things and spends a lot of time on social media she's a bookworm and a giant nerd. She's never had someone want to read a book with her.
