Chapter 9: How To Make Love

The next day, Mighty rose up early before school so he could pick up Ray from Vanilla's house. The house was quite far away so he had to get there and back before school started. He also had to wake up Espio so that he could watch over the house while he was gone. He was now headed out the door.

"I'll be back with Ray soon. Try and stay awake, alright?" Mighty told Espio. The chameleon nodded after a yawn and a slight groan. Mighty had to admit, Espio was pretty dang cute when he was sleepy. "Alright then. Be careful." were Mighty's last words before he left.

Sooner rather than later, Mighty returned with Ray and then him and Espio went off to school. On the way there all Espio could think about was Mighty's behavior the previous day. Why did he ignore him so much? Did he do something wrong? Was it related to what Silver said?

"Mighty, why were you ignoring most of my questions yesterday? Was it something I did?" he asked. Mighty was starting to feel bad now. He couldn't ignore Espio forever, but he just didn't know how to explain the things Silver said without making it weird. He also couldn't explain his feelings for Espio, no, not now at least. It might mess up their friendship.

"No, buddy. You didn't do anything wrong. It's just that... some things are hard to explain." Mighty said. "Oh. So it's not me?" Espio asked. "Of course not. You're fine." Mighty told him with a smile. Now with that settled, the two of them continued to school.

Once they got there they met up with Silver and Sonic before actually starting the classes. After the first classes and lunch time Espio decided he would head back home for the day, although he enjoyed seeing other faces he no longer found the teachers' lectures very interesting.

As he headed out many of the students said 'Hi' or 'Bye' to him in a friendly fashion. To his and Mighty's great surprise most of the students actually liked Espio. He may not have known as much as everyone else, but he had a kind heart. Most of the students couldn't find it in their hearts to be mean to him.

He became one of the popular kids quite fast, as mentioned before, practically everyone liked him. He was even given nicknames by some. Esp, Ep and Pea by his friends. Veggie by Jack and his gang. Espy, Darling, Kitty, Candy and, Heart by anyone who flirted with him, which included Silver.

Charmy Bee would sometimes call him Dino. Now, let's get back to the present. Espio was on his way out when someone called his name, or nickname to be more precise. "Hey, Veggie!" Espio turned back to see Jackson Chameleon. "Oh. Hey, Jack." he greeted. "Where're you off to?" Jack asked.

"Home." Espio simply replied. "And you?" he asked. "I just finished my classes for today. Mondays are short days for me. Can I show you something?" indigo asked. "Sure. What is it?" "It's nowhere in this place. Come on, I'll show you."
So Espio followed Jack out of and away from the school until they were in a specific street.

Although Espio had seen the street before, he wasn't very familiar with it. Jack led the way until they found a surprisingly clean alleyway. It was clean, but it was also dark. (I think you guys know what's coming. Yep, I'm gonna let it happen)

"Is this what you wanted to show me...?" Espio asked unimpressed. "No way, Veggie. Something a whole lot better. Something I've wanted to do with you for a long time." Jack said with a smirk. "O... kay... But why here?" the fuchsia one asked. "It has to be somewhere private where no one can see us." Jack replied.

He then grabbed Espio's hand and walked him into the darkness. It was still light enough for the chameleons to see each other's faces though. Jack made Espio stand back-facing the wall while he (Jack) stood right in front of him. "Alright, Vegge. Have you ever heard of love-making?" the darker lizard asked.
