The next day, Mighty met up with Silver on his way to school. "Hey, buddy!" Silver greeted. "What are you doing all the way out here? The school is in the city." Mighty said. "I just came to talk to you about something regarding Espio." "Oh please. If you want me to marry him it's not happening."

Silver laughed. "I didn't come to make you marry him, I came to ask about him and school. I was thinking he should probably go." "Silver, he can't even talk that well. He may not even know what 2 + 4 is, and yet you want him to go to that school? Everybody'll make fun of him."

"It'll help him socialize with others. And he'll be able to learn all he needs to know." "But that's a high school. They'll probably say he belongs with the kindergarteners." "You really think he's that stupid?" "Silver, I'm not saying he's stupid. He's just not as advanced as the world expects him to be. That's not his fault though."

"How about we teach him about school then? I'll teach him everything I know!" "Please, Silver. Having to deal with you is bad enough. But having to deal with two might as well be the end of me." "Ha! Mighty, you always know how to make me laugh my sandwich off."

"Your sandwich?" "A term I just made up for my butt. Neat huh?" Once again Mighty couldn't help but laugh at his friend's nonsense. The two of them continued their walk until they got to school.

Later during lunch time.

Mighty, Silver, Sonic and Shadow were sitting together at the same table. Knuckles was sitting at a table with his crush Rouge. Silver glanced over at them. "Do you think he's finally making his move?" he asked his friends. "I hope so. Knux's had a crush on Rouge for over two years now. It's about time they get together." Sonic replied.

"Hey, Mighty, when will you make your move?" Silver asked with a smirk. "Silver, are you serious?" Mighty asked annoyed. "Absolutely." the white one replied. "Make his move? Is there someone Mighty likes?" Shadow asked. "Definitely. He secretly likes his veggie thief, Espio." Silver said.

"Ah yes. Sonic told me a little about him yesterday." Shadow recalled. "What's he like, Silver?" Sonic asked. "Three words can describe him; cute and smokin' hot!" Silver replied. "Is it true you like him, Mighty?" Sonic asked. "No! I mean, yes of course but not in that way." the armadillo replied.

"When are you bringing him here?" azure asked again. "He's not coming here. It's too dangerous." Mighty said. "Dangerous? So a couple of kids may talk about him, big deal. It happens to everyone, and it's not like anyone's ever physically hurt someone in this school." Sonic said. "I don't know..." Mighty said.

"Give him a chance to meet others, see new faces, make new friends." Silver said. "Well, I'll talk to him about it." Mighty said. Later, on his way back home Mighty thought about his friends' suggestion about Espio going to school. "He doesn't even know much." he said to himself. "How would he survive that place?"

"If he does wanna go I'll have to figure something out." Mighty wasn't too worried about the socializing part, it was the schoolwork. He knew Espio was far behind every one else in that school. He just didn't want him to be humiliated by every student, but then if they did find out he was behind the socializing part wouldn't work out either. No one would like him other than his (Mighty's) friends.

Once he got home he unlocked the door and went in. Ray must've heard him come back because this time he didn't need to call him. The squirrel came running down the stairs. "Hey, Mighty!" he greeted. "Ray, someday you'll break that neck of yours if you keep running down the stairs like that." Mighty scolded.

Ray pouted. "Fine, I'll stop." he said. "Good. Now where's Espio? I need to talk to him about something." "In my room. He was watching me play my video game." So both Ray and Mighty went up to Ray's room where Espio was still sitting with the paused game.

"Hi, Mighty." the chameleon greeted upon seeing Mighty walk in. "Hey, I need to talk to you for a minute." the ebony one said. "Okay." Espio simply replied. "So my friends are suggesting you go to school to socialize." Mighty started. "Hm? I am not sure what 's-suggest-ing' or 'sochalize' means, but I have heard of school." fuchsia said.

"Always wanted to go." he continued. "Never could." "Well, Silver says it might be good for you to meet others and maybe make some friends." "More friends?" "Yeah. Me and Ray don't have to be your only friends you know." "Sounds fun, but I don't know much. Would not they laugh?"

"That's what I was worried about. The kids in that school aren't the nicest, and they expect all their peers to know what they know." "M-maybe it is not a good thought." (He means 'idea') Mighty thought for a bit before speaking again. "Do you want to go?" he asked.

"Will that white guy be there too?" Espio asked. "Who, Silver? Heh, unfortunately yes." Mighty replied. "You don't like him?" he asked. "He is weird. Do you like him?" "He can be a weirdo sometimes, but he's pretty cool when he wants to be. He's my bestie at school."

"Oh. Well I would like to go. I want to know what others know." "I think I have an idea." "Idea?" "Yeah. Hold up. I'll be right back." With that Mighty ran from the room to the living room and out the door. Then he started running to the city. He was hoping his idea worked out.

Ten minutes later Ray and Espio heard the front door, meaning Mighty had come back. They both went down to meet him. "What was that all about?" Ray asked him. "Sorry, I had to get there before the school closed." Mighty replied. "Why'd you go back to school?" the squirrel asked again.

"I spoke to the head of the school about Espio going. I told him about our situation and he said he'll let him go just to socialize." "So he doesn't have to do any schoolwork?" "No. But we agreed that he'd only allow this if I became his teacher instead." "So he'll go to school to meet others, but actually do the schoolwork here with you?" "Yes."

"Sounds great! What do you think, Espio?" Ray asked him. "Uh, I guess that is fine." Espio replied. "He says you should catch up before actually enrolling there. Don't worry, I'll teach you everything you need to know. Not trying to brag, but with me as your teacher you'll soon be smarter than all the students in that school." Mighty told him.

"Mighty never fails a class." Ray said. "We'll start off basic, but there are some things I should tell you first." Mighty said. The chameleon remained silent to let Mighty continue. "Some kids won't like you if not all of them. Think you can handle being hated?" "Yes."

"Don't pay too much attention to Silver. He may get a bit weird." "O-kay." "And whatever you do, do not hang around Jackson Chameleon." Mighty said seriously. "What is-?" "Not 'What', 'Who'. He's only the biggest bully in the entire country. He picks on literally everyone in the school except his friends."

"Him and his friends call themselves The Rep Trep. It's a dumb name, but don't tell them that. They're a gang of four reptiles, there's Jack Chameleon, Sally Salamander, Greg Iguana, and Larry Gecko. Last time I spoke to them they had nothing but bad things to say."

"So... should I just... stay away from them?" Espio asked. "You don't have to. Maybe you'll get along with them 'cause you're a reptile just like them, but they're usually pretty mean to new students." Mighty said. "Oh. I guess I will try not to be around them then." Espio said. Mighty put a hand on the chameleon's shoulder. "Don't worry. If anything happens I've got your back." he said with a smile.
