Chapter 16: Bad Timing

It was Tuesday. Neither Mighty nor Silver were at school. School was not important at the moment. What was important was getting to a safer place. As soon as Silver left his house he went out to find Jack. He started by going to the school and asking around.

He bumped into the rest of The Rep Trep during his search. "Hey, guys. Um, have you seen Jackson anywhere?" he asked them. "You're looking for Jack? I thought you hated him, and us for that matter." Larry said. "Yeah, but I just need to know where he is right now." Silver told them.

Sally shrugged. "No clue. I haven't seen him in almost three days." she said. "Three days?! I saw him yesterday. He was at Mighty's house hurting Espio." Silver said. Sally's eyes widened. "Hurting Espio? What do you mean by 'hurting'?" she asked.

"He raped him. Don't you know that?" Silver asked. "He's never told us anything like that." Larry said. "What? But Mighty told me all of you guys tried to hurt him on his first day here." albino said. "We were just playing around. I would never rape anybody." Larry said.

"How many times has he done this?" Sally asked. "Twice, and he plans to do more, I bet." Silver replied. Both Sally and Larry were clearly shocked by their friend's actions, but Greg seemed to be way too quiet for the situation at hand. This was making Silver suspicious.

"I... can't believe this. I've never thought of Jack as a rapist." the salamander said. "I didn't think he'd stoop down this low." Larry said. "Do you guys have any idea where he might be? I need to know so I can let Mighty know where he is. We think he's been spying on us so Mighty has to move.

His plan was to move back into his old home to protect Espio. They have to sneak out without being seen by Jack or he'd just follow them there." Silver explained. Sally and Larry looked at each other and had the same idea going on. "We'll help you find him." Sally said to Silver.

Silver was surprised. "You'll miss your classes." he said. "Who cares? We wanna help you protect your buddy. We're not pleased with what Jack's done either ya know." Larry said. For the first time in his life the white hedgehog gave the two lizards a smile. "Thanks, guys." he said.

Greg cut in awkwardly. "Ahem... uh, I'd love to help too but I've got to be somewhere right now." he said before leaving quickly. Sally crossed her arms. "Well, I guess you don't have to be in class all of a sudden!" she called to him. "I guess not!" he called back as he left the building.

"Not sure what's been up with Greg." Larry said with a shrug. Silver shrugged it off too. "Alright guys. Let's go try and find Jack. I'll let Mighty know you guys are helping." he said. As they left the building Silver dialed Mighty's number on his communicator.

"Silver, what's going on?" Mighty answered. "I wanted to let you know that Sally and Larry are helping me find Jack." Silver said. "What?! Why're you working with them?! Aren't they on his side?!?!" Mighty asked. "No, no, no. They want to help. They didn't know Jack had harmed Espio until I told them a few minutes ago."

"Really?" Mighty asked a bit surprised. "Rape isn't something I do, man." Larry said in the background. "I don't care for it either. What we did on his first day was a prank." Sally added. "Okay, fine. You guys let me know when you find him." Mighty said. "Right." Silver said before hanging up.

Meanwhile, Greg was behind the school building making a call of his own. "They're moving out?!" Jack had asked over the communicator. "Yeah. They're moving to Might's old home, but I don't know where that is." the all black iguana told him. "They're also looking for you. They want to make sure you don't follow them." he added.

Greg heard his friend chuckle. "Jack?" he asked. "I'll let them have their way for now. I'll just have to wait for a better time." "But, Jack, we still don't know where this house is." "I know how to solve that." Jack said. And just as he said he stopped hiding and came out.
