I waited patiently, ordering some green tea while I waited. Zane was an impressive cook, working inhumanly fast and swiftly. He seemed happy and comfortable as he added small dashes of this and that as he worked and conversing politely and cheerfully with the customers.

"Zane! Hey buddy!" I turned when a large group entered. The person who spoke was a broad shouldered boy with scruffy black hair and dark eyes. The next two were pushing and shoving each other , one a blonde and the other a spiky haired brunette. The last two were chatting, the only girl has black hair tied in a ponytail as she talked to a nervous curly haired boy with an ugly orange scarf.

"Hello Cole." Zane greeted the ravenette. "The usual?"

Cole smirked and nodded. Looking excited as Zane slid over a giant cake.

How was this dudes muscles so huge when he ate cake full of preservatives and carbs?

"Thanks Zane." The curly haired boy said, his voice accented. He frowned when Zane gave him a Popsicle. But when I looked closer the whole thing was just ice, everything was entirely made out of ice even the stick.

"Funny." Scarf boy said dryly, sulking but sucked on it none the less.

"Are you coming back to play video games after your shift?" Cole asked excitedly as he sat down, his foot moved to shove the seat spiky brunette boy was about to sit in and the boy fell over with an "oof."

"I am sorry but I have to speak with Sensei about something important and I am unsure when I will return." Zane told them. Sensei?

The blonde glanced up. "Uncle Wu? Why?"

Zane glanced at me. The other ninja all whipped around to stare at me. I slowly raised my tea to my mouth and sipped with a small slurp uncomfortably.

  "Who's that?" Ponytail girl asked.

"Gwendolyn O'Hannah, age eighteen, five foot nine, lives on 238 Rubble Avenue in Jamakai." Zane spouted out.

I chocked and spat out my tea.

  What the heck?

"Uh Zane...that's a little creepy." Scarf dude nudged him.

Zane blinked. "I am sorry, I was only noting these facts I have learned by browsing the Internet."

I wiped my mouth with my sleeve. "It's fine." I waved my hand. We all have our quirks.

"What do you need to talk to Wu about?" Mr. Spikes asked.

"Yeah what?" Cole chimed in, the group looked at me attentively.

Feeling uncomfortable under their stares I did the most intelligent move in this situation and continued drinking my tea.

"Her grandmother left her a note that she wishes to solve, I need to ask Wu's permission to go there." Zane explained.

"Ah." They said like that was a perfectly normal thing.

"Are you guys apart of a yoga group or something?" I asked. They gave me a funny look. "No? Meditation? I heard that's super relaxing."

Blondie laughed. "Why would you think that?"

"Sensei? Isn't that like a zen thing or whatever? "
