He tightened his grip on my shoulders and I felt he kissed my forehead. Para akong bata na umiiyak sa nanay niya.
"Uy Pres! Jowa mo?" Narinig kong may nagtanong sa malayo at tumango lang siya.
"Pakilala mo naman kami!" I felt that he shook his head and heard him say "wrong timing".
Kumalma naman ako pagkatapos ng ilang minuto. Humiwalay ako sa kanya at nakasimangot na humarap sa kanya.
"Hindi mo naman ako jowa eh" I pouted like a kid and looked away. Pansin kong basa na ang polo niyang naiyakan ko. I shifted my attention sa mga taong naglalakad dahil sa hiya.
He held up my chin to turned back my gaze at him. He smiled sadly.
"Feeling better now?" I nodded sadly then wiped my face.
"Salamat. Uwi na ako ha" I started walking but he held my wrist.
"Hatid na kita" Umiling naman ako sa kanya.
"Kaya ko na. Okay na yon!" I faked a smile at him.
"I know you can but I want to be with you. Tara na kasi" Umakbay siya sakin at tipid na ngumiti. Gusto kong umangal dahil dumadalas na ang physical contact namin pero I'm too sad to do that. Hayaan ko muna siya for today.
"Pres pa rin tawag nila sayo 'no? Siguro ang bait mo kaya malapit ka sa tao." I said easing the awkwardness I'm feeling. He just chuckled and winked at me. I know that actions! He's saying "ako pa ba!" Yabang! Siniko ko naman siya habang naglalakad kami.
I looked at him puzzled when we stopped in front of Dairy Queen mini branch near our school perimeter.
"Ice cream?" I asked then stood up outside his car as he opened the door for me. Gentledog nuxx!
"Ice cream." He beamed and looked at me like it was obvious.
Libre naman daw niya kaya pumayag na rin ako.
"Oreo large sakin, babe!"
"Okay babe. Ano pa want mo?"
I frowned at the sight of the couples in front of the counter. Ang tagal nila umorder, dito pa nagtanungan!
"How about you baby? What do you want?" I scoffed unbelievingly at what Nathan said to me. I rolled my eyes at him and he started laughing. Halatang nag-eenjoy sa pang-aasar sakin! Ang bully niya Mommy! Kakaiyak ko lang eh.
"Baby your face! Strawberry banana sakin. Large ha!" Then I remembered earlier when he hugs me, he called me baby. Fuck. I feel like I'm blushing so I looked away from him and walked to find a seat.
He sat across me and hold backwards his ice cream. Tulad ng pagpapasikat ng mga crew ng DQ tuwing binabaliktad ang cup na may lamang ice cream.
"Ginagawa mo?"
"Callie, tignan mo 'to. Hindi nahuhulog diba?" Parang ewan niyang tanong at nakita kong after few minutes, nalulusaw na ang ice cream.
"Ayan o! Mahuhulog na nga!" I laughed histerically.
"Oo nga. Eh ikaw kaya kalian?" He wiggled his eyebrows then laughed. I just shrugged my shoulders. Laos naman yang banat na yan e!
We ate our ice cream and talked about silly things. I'm trying not to slipped out of my mouth the topic about what happened. And he seems to understand my silence about it.
