Spot POV
I woke up the next morning. It was the morning of the rally we will have without Jacky Boy. I heard from David that he didn't escape last night. Idiot. I was waiting anxiously for all of my boys to get ready. I got ready extra early so I could see Jules. She was out of the orphanage and hopefully will never have to go back there again. I don't know about Jacky Boy though.
My boys were finally ready, so we made our way to 'Hattan. We came to the square where newsies from all over New York were. I climbed up onto the middle statue to try and pick out Jules from the crowd. I couldn't see her anywhere. I began to get worried.
Jules POV
I was looking out the window of the distribution center. Spot stood on top of a statue with worry in his eyes. He was probably looking for me. I heard footsteps behind me. "Showtime, pretty face." Oscar said.
"Never call me that." I spat. Oscar grabbed my hand and pulled me over to the door. I looked outside. I saw Spot. A tear fell down my face.
Spot POV
Jules was still not there, but Jack sure was. I pulled Race by the arm. "Tell me I'm seein things. Just tell me I'm seein things!" I yelled in disbelief.
"You ain't seein things! That's Jack! He's dressed like a scabba!" Race replied.
"Jack! Look at me buddy! It me, Mush!" Mush cried, trying to jump over the barrier of cops surrounding us. "What are ya doin Jack?"
"Lemme get my hands dirty!" I yelled. "Ya lousy traitor!" I'll murder ya!" It took at least six boys to keep me from jumping over the barrier of cops.
The door to the distribution center opened. Oscar Delancy came out of it with his hand gripped on Jules' arm. "JULES!!" I yelled. "What are ya doin?!" More boys had to hold me back. Oscar saw me and smirked. I gave him a death glare. He turned to Jules and pulled her into him. He kissed her. Right in front of me. I screamed so loud that all of New York could hear me. Jules quickly pulled away and spat at Oscar. She started running towards me and reached her hand out. Oscar grabbed her other hand and pulled her back. I reached out to her too. We almost touched hands.
I glared one last time at Jack and Oscar. I turned around and kids parted the way for me to pass by. I started back to the Brooklyn docks.
Jules POV
I was pulled out by Oscar. Spot and I locked eyes. It all happened so fast. Next thing I knew. Oscar's lips met mine. It was the most horrible sensation I have ever felt. I quickly pulled away and reached for Spot. He reached back, but I was immediately pulled back by Oscar. All I wanted to do at that moment was soak Oscar so bad. I got many looks. Mush stared at me in surprise. Kid Blink looked frightened. Race looked like he was punched in the gut. Spot looked at me one last time, and left. The people I am so close with, all looking at me like I was the craziest, most horrible person ever.
Police parted the way for Jack to come through the crowd of people. He was a traitor. He got me into this whole mess. I wanted to lunge at him as much as I wanted to kill Oscar. If he came back with David, none of this would've happened. I sprinted back into the distribution center. Many tears escaped my eyes. Oscar followed me in. I turned back to him and punched him so hard, he hit his face on the window. Some newsies turned their attention over to the building I was in. I elbowed Oscar in the gut and kicked his leg. I stomped on his foot with so much force that he toppled over. He lay unconscious on the floor
Race, Mush, Kid Blink, and all the other newsies were looking at me through the window. I ran out of the distribution center and out to the crowd of newsies. Race looked at me. I looked back. He smiled. I smiled back. I ran and broke through the barrier of cops. I hugged Race with so much force. Mush, Kid Blink, and Skittery all hugged me.
I began to tell them the story of what happened with Oscar. They listened to me. "-and then, they said if I didn't, they would hurt Spot..." my voice trailed off. "SPOT!" I cried. I took off towards Brooklyn.
