A/N

I know, even more context, trust me the next chapter is actually, well a chapter. This is also quite short, sorry...

Now, the kings and queens were not allowed to betroth their children, and they weren't supposed to even discuss the hoped for matches either. Though everyone, including the princes and Thomas knew what the intended for matches were. The most powerful of the kingdoms was Geminos. The prospering art and coastal border helped their economy blume. The lack of danger and war along with a bordering coastal border made Accentus a close second. The list goes on with Picardiá in third, Mendacium in fourth, and Amare trailing behind in fifth.

In order to strengthen the west, the attended matches were Roman and Logan, and Remus and Patton. Roman and Logan would not only form a powerful alliance, but it would also hopefully knock Accentus out of the second spot to be replaced by Picardiá. The strong Geminos economy would help bring Amare back up and strengthen alliances between the west.

Knowing the plans in the west, the east had to also do their best to strengthen. Mendacium could use a better economy, and a strong alliance, both of which could be provided by Accentus.

Thomas knew and understood the reasoning behind the matches, but he understood how badly they would turn out as well. He had known the princes their entire lives, and he apparently knew them better than their parents. Logan and Roman are both headstrong, and they believe in different things, a happy marriage is impossible. Patton is kind and sweet, whereas Remus is vile and crude, a happy marriage is impossible. Janus lied out of self-interest, and lying made Virgil uneasy, a happy marriage is impossible.

It was important for the marriages to be happy so that a civil war didn't break out. Thomas was determined to have different matches then what was planned.
