"Your mother and I are going to the capital to discuss the upcoming dinner with King Thomas and the other rulers. I expect your violin and etiquette lessons will be done by then, correct Roman?"

"Yes Father," Roman replied. He always had a stricter upbringing than Remus due to the fact he was the main heir, and Remus was a lost cause. Don't get me wrong, Remus does use silverware at the table, can read and write, and plays a few chords on the banjo, but other than that, he is just violently himself. Which is not always a good thing.

"Good, try to keep Remus out of trouble, I don't want to come home to a mess." Roman's mom added. Roman chuckled and replied with,

"I'll do my best, but I can't perform miracles."

With that, his parents went down to the courtyard and rode to Simul's capital. When the two left the room, Remus came in to fill the gap.

"Where are they going?" He squinted at the window as he watched the carriage become more and more small and fuzzy till you couldn't see it anymore.

"To the capital to discuss the dinner. They told me to keep you out of trouble, so please, stay away from everyone and anything." Roman pleaded, he had things to do better than chasing Remus through the hallways in an attempt to save a hamster before Remus got to the kitchens.

"We'll see. Do you think you'll like Logan? I don't think I'll like Patton, he seems like the kind of guy to have never made fun of an old lady because she looked like a dog." Remus said, completely serious.

"If that's what you look for in a partner, I hate to break it to you, but I don't think you'll have much luck. I don't know much about Logan, other than the fact he also has to train to become king, and he enjoys it! How could someone enjoy this much work? Did you know that there is a wrong way to eat soup? Remember to not scoop towards yourself, because that's improper etiquette!" Roman ranted while going through a book that was way too long about table manners.

" Pshhh, you use a spoon?" Remember what I said before about Remus using silverware? Scratch that apparently. "I'm glad I don't have to be king, I don't even trust myself to run a kingdom! I mean, that's a lot of people's lives to ruin, I don't think I could get to all of them."

"The objective isn't to ruin their lives, it's to make them better, but fear not Remus. I have not a shred of doubt that you could ruin each and everyone's lives, it seems to come naturally to you." Roman retorted, walking over to his violin.

"How kind you are Roman!"

Meanwhile, in the capital eleven royals sat at a table. They were planning the dinner that could alter all of the kingdoms for years. After trivial discussions such as what to have for dinner, and whether or not dessert would be served, they had gotten to the more pertinent questions.

One of the many traditions of the dinner was to have half of the attendees in dresses, and half in suits. It's a tradition that goes back to before Thomas outlawed homophobia. But many (especially those who made money off of the dresses) still wanted the tradition to stay. Thomas was all for it, so it was decided Patton, Virgil, and Janus would wear dresses. [I couldn't resist]

More important than that was the seating. Who the princes talked to the most through the night would most likely determine who they would pick to marry. It was chosen that the round table would have them all sitting in this order: Patton, Logan, Roman, Virgil, Janus, Remus. The parents were happy that the intended matches were being placed together.

After a couple more hours of discussion, the Kings and Queens headed home. Little did they know that not a single one of the planned matches would end up being and that the most unlikely of matches would be the ones to come out on top.
