Dwayne Clement's POV

"Look before you heap but kill two birds with one stone."

At one point, I wondered, what would happen if faith woken me up that day and stay for a little while. I wondered if she would remember me, and made the tables turned. I wondered, what would happen if I didn't searched for her. And I wondered what would happen if I never had a chance to meet her. Would it change our path?

"There's something missing," I mumbled to myself. I gazed towards the window, there was no moon at the center of the sky, it seemed so dark and dull, bound with the sadness in its shadow.

I quickly shook the feeling off as I saw my phone lit up with a notification. My eyes darted at the phone as the name of Zcyhie's father popped out of the screen. I slid the answer button and looked straight ahead, at the dark passageway of the hospital. I snatched out my air pods and immediately connected the call.

I cleared my dry throat and said, "Sir, we have a problem." A muscle in my jaw twitched. I walked towards the nurse station, following my gaze towards the busy crowds.

He immediately answered, followed by the silence on the other line and asked, "Where's my daughter?"

"She's in the ICU right now, sir." I slid my phone on my pocket and snapped my fingers to grab the attention of the nurse.

"Sorry. Zcyhie Fleuvis paper's please?" I asked. Carmen just smiled and handed me the papers to filled in. I jerked my head in the direction of a shadow on the right portion of the dark pathway.

"What happened?" he asked, with a hint of worry in his tone. I shrugged and averted my gaze back at the folder.

After finishing writing the information, I immediately closed the pen and handed Carmen back the filled papers. "Someone shot her," I said as I walked towards the main door of the hospital. "Sir, Zcyhie needs you. Where are you?" I added.

"Clement, I need you to go right straight into my office." I stopped walking for a moment and shoved my hands on my pocket.

"Are you at the Equinox?" He continued. My eyes furrowed as my breath quickened.

I withdraw a long deep breath before I could answer, "Yes."

"Good timing. Now, hurry up!" he yelled. I scanned the surroundings, walked towards the parking, and climbed up to my car.

There was a long moment of silence. The light was fading, creating new shadows and dark patches around me. Eyes glimmered from tree hollows. The wind wailed between distorted trunks, carrying the sickly stink of wood rot.

"Take Zcyhie's necklace," he uttered. I nodded as a response, starting my engine. I clenched my jaw and inspected the path, looking almost seemed ghost town, here at the Stygian Realm.
