It's been four amazing weeks since that fateful Monday. That day Billie stayed in my place for dinner, which made my mum happy, and then she had to leave to get her stuff together for her next show that was in Middlesbrough, in the UK, for the BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend Festival. I was kind of jealous because that's one of the biggest festivals in the UK and because there were so many artists going that I've been a fan of for years!
At the same time, I was happy for her. She got the chance to perform in front of thousands and she could meet some of her English fans, as it would take her a while to go there with the tour.
Then something amazing happened!
The dance studio where me, Yuna and Kyle worked, was invited, among others, to go to Brazil for a month, not only to promote the studio itself but also to receive training and to get some partnerships with other dance studios around the world. We had to select two people to go and represent the studio, and the chosen were Kyle and Will, one of our dance teachers. We were all really proud of Kyle, it was an amazing opportunity for him as a dancer and as a person!
Obviously, not everything is roses and pink flamingos! Hina and her parents received news of her grandmother's death and had to go to Japan to be there for her funeral and all the rituals it required as a Buddhist family.
So that only left me, Yuna, Lucca and Elijah. Yuna and I had dance classes to teach, Lucca worked from home most of the times as he was a video and photography editor, and Elijah worked in his mother restaurant most days. I still remember her face when she was able to open that place, with the money she worked so hard for! She was a warrior!
Me and Billie kept in touch, obviously. We exchanged numbers that night and that made it easier to talk to each other. After she got back from the UK, she started touring the US so even though we were in different time zones, it wasn't as bad as when she was in Australia. We would text and then she would facetime me after her soundchecks and sometimes, if she wasn't beat, after her concerts.
Yuna and Elijah were celebrating their third year together as girlfriend and boyfriend this week and invited me and Lucca to their little escapade to New York. When they first asked me if I wanted to go, I thought it would be stupid to go with them. They were dating each other, they had to celebrate together! However, when I was talking to Billie later the same day, she said that I should go and that way we could see each other because she had two shows in New York that same week. She said she would even get us some backstage passes so we could see her show!
Taking that opportunity not only to see Billie again, but also because I would be able to watch one of her concerts for the first time, I said yes to the couple. Yuna reserved two hotel rooms for the four of us, for 5 days.
I had to talk with my boss and get those days off, but I would have to compensate once I got back, but in all, he was a pretty chill guy and there wasn't a problem. The only money I had to spend, so far, on this adventure was on the airplane ticket there and back, which was a relief since my bank account got a bit drained with the Coachella weekend and the travelling adventure in Europe and in UAE.

"Ladies ang gentleman welcome to New York. Please, wait for the seatbelt sign before getting up. We're still in movement, so please wait until the plane is completely in a standstill and the doors are open to exit the aircraft. In name of the cabin crew, thank you for flying with us and have a nice stay!"
One of the things that I hate about flying and airplanes is the chaos that follows a landing. Everyone gets up at the same time and then its like we're stuck in traffic. There's no going one way or the other and people tend to be rude about it, like they're the only ones that need to get somewhere!
