That night we left soon after Adelaide fell asleep, back to our hotel while Billie and her entourage stayed behind before getting back on the road, so they didn't get stuck in traffic in the morning, on their way to Washington.

I wouldn't see Billie for a while, again! She had a couple of days free between the 24th and the 26th of June before going to Europe again, but those two days were reserved for Zoe, as her birthday was on the 26th and Billie wanted to be with her best friend, which I totally agreed with.

We would probably be able to see each other between the first and the fifth of July but I wasn't really counting on it because she would probably spend that small amount of time with her friends before getting back on the road. And yes, she would be in LA soon after that for three consecutive days, so we could probably see each other then.

For now, I just had to wait and see what happens. Until then we have text messages and facetime calls...

Saying goodbye to Billie was hard, especially after the moment we had when Adelaide was falling asleep on me.

A woman had come and with the utmost care, took the sleeping toddler from my arms, saying thank you to me before leaving the room. I had given Finneas a hug and a promise that I would call Claudia and then I got surprised by Patrick's hug. We didn't talk as much, but I guess he liked me a little bit! Maggie hugged me, but not before kissing my cheek and saying how nice it was to talk to me, which I said back because that woman is an angel.

Turning to Billie I thanked her for today and I told her how awesome she was on stage, and next thing I know she pushes me by my hand towards her and gives me a bearhug. It was the best hug she gave me until today! Saying that she would text me or call me tomorrow, she let me go.

Going back to the hotel gave me a sweet and sour feeling. I liked spending time with Billie. Actually, I loved it. So not seeing her for a while was kind of a bummer.

I tried not to let that ruin the mood for the few days Elijah and Yuna had planned for us, because that wouldn't be fair on neither of them nor would it be fair to Lucca or me. We enjoyed the rest of the days in the 'big apple' and we even felt sad for leaving but we had to.

Being back home brings me always that sweet sense of belonging. They say that home is where your heart is, and my heart is here, in LA, with my dance classes, with my horses, with my friends and my family, but it is also missing a piece that's travelling the world. And that's okay. Even if that piece is not acknowledged by the person it belongs to.

I became so busy with compensating those five days in New York at the dance studio that I didn't notice the time pass by and suddenly the fourth of July was here.

As you know, or not, the fourth of July is a celebration of the Declaration of Independence of the US, which to many people is a big deal. There are a lot of events going on, around LA on that day, however, since I can remember, my parents would host a barbeque slash pool party. That day, when I was growing up, was better than Christmas because all of my friends and their families would come around to celebrate with us.

This year however, it's different as Kyle is in Brazil and Hina and her parents are in Japan. Even though they're not Americans, both Hina and Yuna's families celebrate this day with us, because whether people like it or not, they've been living in America, so they are part of this melting pot we call home!

Like I promised Finneas, Claudia and I had kept in touch and I invited her since her parents don't really celebrate this holiday in her hometown, which them turned to an invitation to the Baird and O'Connell family. Claudia still hasn't said yes or no, but I told my parents to make everything vegan and gluten free so if they came, they would be able to eat.
