Sam blinked her eyes, squinting against the sunlight. Peering around, she noticed that she was one of the only ones left at the lakeside, and had probably been asleep for at least an hour. Kira and Varshini had both gone, they'd left just as she was dozing off in the search of food.
Sam rolled over, trying to get comfy again but now impossibly hot she just couldn't relax. Also, she was starting to burn. Groaning she rolled herself off the platform, splashing down into the cold, refreshing water. She swam back towards the beach. Well, they called it a beach, it was more a sandy expanse of terrain that abutted the water and definitely wasn't big enough to warrant the name beach.
Her clothes had been moved from where she'd originally left them, and Sam searched for them, finally finding them in the sand, having been used as a goal post. Too wet to get changed, she bundled them into her arms, picked up her shoes and set off towards the house. Instead of turning towards the front door, she veered off to the side, where a thick wall of ivy clung to the wooden façade. This was the route that her, Liam and Aiden used to climb into their rooms as it allowed them to avoid any necessity to socialise within the main house. Gripping her clothes in her teeth, Sam tied the laces of her shoes around her neck and started climbing upwards, gripping on to the ivy and using the wooden planks as footholds. She passed the first-floor windows, where the dormitories were, and moved upward to the second-floor windows, where her bedroom was. The ivy stopped just above, at the windows to the third floor, where the meeting room, office and weapons room were located. The ivy spread as it climbed, covering two of the first-floor windows, but three of the second floor, including Aiden's, Liam's and the start of Sam's huge bank of windows. She reached Aiden's window first, and peered in, expecting to see him on his PlayStation or sprawled out on the bed, but the room was empty. Liam's room was also empty.
Reaching her window, Sam reached out to unlock the latch and slid into the room. She dumped her clothes on the floor and untied her shoes from her neck. She was ready for a nice shower and an afternoon of TV. Before heading to the bathroom, she picked up her phone, planning on asking the boys whether they fancied watching a film with her. Glancing at the screen, she saw that she had three notifications.
'Where you at?' from Liam.
'Yo dude, fancy some food?' from Aiden.
'Thank you for what you said at the lake, it's nice to know that you're willing to listen to my side of the story xx' from Varshini.
Sam quickly unlocked her phone, replying to Liam and Aiden first. Flipping through to Varshini's message, her fingers paused as she thought out a reply.
'Of course! That's what friends are for xx'. Finishing the message, she turned to the ensuite bathroom, ready for a nice relaxing shower, but was halted in her tracks by the door suddenly bursting open.
"Hey, Sam!"
"Hey, Liam! Where you been?" Sam instantly recognised the pine tree scent that wafted from the newcomer, but her words were met by silence. She turned, confused by the lack of response. Liam's huge frame filled her doorway, his eyes fixed on her. His eyes slowly darted down, taking in her state of undress and his pupils fully dilated. Slowly he moved into the room, shutting the door behind him. And then he turned his head and he locked the door, locking him in with her. Sam softly backed up.
"Could you maybe put some clothes on?" Liam growled, desperately trying to keep his head turned away, his grip tightening on the handle.
"Erm... but I was about to take a showe..." Liam's head snapped around, his eyes glazed over as they roamed her body. Too late Sam realised that had definitely been the wrong answer. Everything about him screamed sexual frustration and she probably wasn't helping in her current state. Sure he'd seen her in a bikini before, but seeing someone in swimwear at the beach is very different to seeing someone in swimwear in the privacy of a bedroom. Not only that, but her black bikini was still dripping wet, leaving tracks of glistening water across her glowing skin. She was still hot from being outside, so her cheeks would be red, and her freckles on full display. Her ginger hair had dried just enough to form a mane of ringlets, and she knew that freshly wet hair had the strongest scent for a werewolf, so her scent must be intoxicating right now. I wonder what I smell like to Liam? Is it a nice, flowery smell, or something a bit more robust or maybe it's a sexy smell? Liam moved slightly closer. Really not the right time to be wondering that! Sam goaded herself.
"I should probably go," Sam mumbled, backing up towards the bathroom door. It wasn't that she was scared of Liam, she knew she could beat him in a fight, but she also knew that this was one particular fight that she wouldn't want to win should it start. She tried to move efficiently, keeping her movements slow and relaxed so as not to alert Liam, but she wasn't fast enough.
Liam's arms crashed down on either side of her, trapping her between his body and the door. Between a rock and a hard place, Sam chuckled. She peered down, a very hard place. His face moved impossibly closer, his eyes locking with hers. She could hear his ragged breath and see the tension in his biceps as he fought to hold himself back. His forehead touched hers, and she felt herself melt into his touch, yearning to move upwards to meet his lips with her own. She wondered what he would taste like, whether his lips would be soft or forceful. She desperately wanted to find out but knew that this was just the heat talking. Sure, she was always attracted to Liam, but not usually to the point where she couldn't control her own body. Although Liam doesn't have that excuse, the heat doesn't affect males! Inwardly she growled, he knew she would struggle to hold herself off, so surely he should be the one to exercise control here. He's being unfair, and a complete prick... Sam's attention was immediately drawn back downwards. So not the right word to use...
She couldn't help herself as her hands moved forward of their own accord, tracing patterns into his pecs. The only self-control she succeeded in exercising was ripping her eyes away from his deep green gaze, tinged with the yellow of his wolf as it fought for dominance. She could feel the heat from his skin. She wanted to mould her body to his, to feel complete. She wanted to be wrapped in his arms, safe from the world around her. She drew in a shaking breath, feeling her resolve crumble as her legs trembled. His hand moved closer, softly caressing her jaw. His thumb swept over her lower lip, and she nuzzled into his hand, bringing her eyes up to meet his once more. As soon as they made contact, he inched closer, brushing her lips with his. He claimed her mouth in a soft kiss. Soft! His lips are soft... and delicious.
They parted, catching their breath. Liam's hand moved slightly, covering Sam's neck and she moaned at the delicious contact. The sound seemed to send Liam over the edge. The yellow flecks that had previously threatened to invade his eyes leaked into the green and he kissed her again, but with a new ferocity. The kiss was full of passion, and desperation. His tongue probed her lower lip, requesting access at first and then softly demanding it when she didn't open her mouth right away. When she finally let him in, he devoured her mouth, sucking and biting at her lips, demanding dominance over her tongue. His hands moved downwards, capturing her waist in his grip. They paused, his thumb massaging patterns into the bare skin, before moving further downward. Capturing her ass, he lifted her, allowing her legs to wrap around him, moulding their bodies even closer together as he backed her into the door.
