Chapter Thirty

❄︎ Snow's Prescriptive...

              It's been only a day since those two deaths.. but Maya still feels guilty. Luckily, she got over most of it.

Maya, Alessia, Apple, and I mostly ate what we found in the strange, dusty kitchen. Alessia had a huge appetite while Apple barely ate. It was weird but everybody was different after all.

These last few days have been weird, too. Maya spoke more than usual, while Alessia spoke less. Apple slept for periods of time usually longer than 12 hours. Maybe she slept quite late?

I can't help but suspect all of them. Maybe they were all teaming up?... But.. ugh.

Maya might not be one of my high suspects, she seemed just friendly and caring. Plus, she might've just been shy in the beginning, since, after all, we hadn't known each other personally.

Honestly, I feel like Apple is the murderer. Maybe she doesn't sleep but hides in her room to avoid socializing with us to not get suspected?.. Hm..

But then Alessia was always looking to her sides nervously. Plus, she nearly always mumbled what she said. So, I guess she may be my highest suspect.

I groaned and lifted myself up from the sofa in the big room we all agreed on to just call the living room. I decided to check on Apple, and see if she was asleep still.

I walked down the creaky halls and opened to door of Apple's room. Unsurprisingly, she was sleeping.

"Apple, get up, it's already noon", I exclaimed, walking closer to where Apple was. I got no response, though.

I groaned, again, and walked over to the window in the room. I threw the curtains aside, thinking the brightness would wake up my friend.

But, still, I got no response.

"Apple?..", I said.

No response..

I ran over to where Apple was again. She was still breathing... I swept the blanket away from her body. No knife or gun wound. Maybe some drug or poison?... I looked on top of the dresser next to the bed where Apple was lying. There was only a book and, I believe, her phone. I picked up the book and examined it.

This was the book R.Kade had read, too!
