As Ahsoka walked down the hall, Cavalry came up and fell in step with her. Ahsoka smiled at her friend, and Cavalry grinned in return. She still had a slight limp, but her leg was mostly healed from Umbara. Ashoka also noticed that she was wearing her full armor now, and not the half-armored look that she had gone for when she first got off Kamino. "So spill. How's the captain?" Ahsoka paused for a beat.

"Uh... hungover, currently. I was going to the infirmary to grab him some pain killers. I just needed to move and stretch my legs. " Ahsoka stared straight ahead, the strips on her lekku darkening a few shades. Cav's smile widened.

"Wow. You managed to put up with a hungover clone without blasting them or them blasting you? I'm... actually, considering it's you and Rex, I shouldn't be surprised," Ahsoka gave her friend a strange look. Cavalry shrugged. "Most clones are temperamental when hungover, and all clones are terrible patients." Ahsoka snickered, before letting out an all out laugh. Cavalry joined her, and the girls giggled together until they had to lean on one another for support.

"You can say that again. Kix had to practically stun Rex to get him to come to the medbay after our incident with the trandoshans." Ahsoka snorted. Cavalry gave her a sly grin.

"Ooooh, is this where you guys pulled the sappy confession in the rain?" She poked. Ahsoka's chevrons on her montrails and lekku turned the color of Cav's blacks.

"It wasn't in the rain... it... he... Uhhhgggg." She groaned. They approached the infirmary and Cavalry followed her in. Kix looked up from his desk as they drew near.

"Let me guess. Painkillers for Rex's hangover and a checkup on the foot?" He smirked, already knowing that he was right. The girls nodded. Kix passed Ahsoka a bottle, and had Cavalry sit down on a stretcher as he examined her foot. He gently pulled off her boot, and unwrapped what seemed to be an entire roll of bacta bandages. She didn't flinch when he manipulated the joint of her ankle, and a quick scan revealed the bone to be almost completely healed. This confused Ahsoka, because livid bruising and some minor swelling stood out against her skin, her ankle an ugly brownish purple.

"The fracture seems to be healing well. Any stiffness or abnormal aches from it?" He questioned, rewrapping the bandages around her foot. Cavalry shook her head before stuffing her boot on. Ahsoka gave her a lopsided grin. Kix gave a rueful shake of his head before turning back to his paperwork left over from Umbara.

"I swear, between Ahsoka's jedi antics and your clone stubbornness-" He was cut off as the ship suddenly lurched violently to the side, lights dimming as alarms blared. Kix let loose a slew of foul words in what Ahsoka thought was mando'a. Without thinking, she slipped Rex's painkillers in a pouch hanging by her belt and ran to the bridge. Anakin was already there, leaning on a consol.

"Master what's-"

"We're under attack. Pirates or bounty hunters, I don't know which." Anakin gritted out, cutting her off.

"Sir, we've lost our stabilizers. I recommend we get everyone to secured locations." A clone yelled from his terminal, looking up at his general. Anakin nodded.

"Good thinking. Give instructions over the PA. Ahsoka, you go and guide those who need help. Why did this have to be today of all days?" He grumbled. Ahsoka's mouth twitched.

"Your guess is as good as mine. I'll comm you when everyone is accounted for." She said, turning to leave. Another clone's words made her pause to listen.

"Sir, we have a docked breach. Hostiles making their way down the starboard block and officers' barracks." Anakin swore, and Ahsoka took off down that way, lightsabers ignited and clenched in her reverse grip. She forced herself to remain calm. Rex's quarters were on the starboard block. Muttering some very un-jedi like words under her breath, she rounded the corner where she almost ran straight into a battle droid. There was a whole squad of them, and she caught a glimpse of blue skin disappearing around a corner ahead. The droid seemed as startled as she was, but she recovered from her shock first, slicing off it's head.

The rest of the droids noticed her, and Ahsoka raised her sabers. She felt her mind reach into the deepest part of her being, washing away all concealment and front she had ever put up as she found her goal, and achieved it. The hall was filled with scrap in seconds, as she cut through droid after droid, until suddenly there were no more. It didn't feel like the darkside, like she had been consumed with when she was on Mortis... It was different. Familiar.

She came out of the combat trance with a jolt, before pounding on the doors lining the hall. Most of them had already been emptied, the occupant being alert enough to follow the orders from the PA announcement. She found Fives, also hungover but not as bad as Rex, and woke him from a deep sleep. He jolted awake, looking absolutely terrible. But he could walk without pushing off the walls for support, and the shake in his hands was diminished. He grabbed his blasters and followed her out the door, staggering only in the slightest at the light from the hall.

"Who did what this time around?" He grumbled at Ahsoka when she finished her instructions. Her mouth twisted.

"Seppie mercs if I had to guess. I think our old friend Bane has paid us a visit." She said, sarcasm coloring her words until they were nearly visible in the air. She ran over to Rex's room, and the door slid open. She stopped when she entered. The glass of water had been knocked to the floor, and the rations laid untouched on the bedside table. And most importantly...

Rex was gone.

She fought down a wave of panic at the sight of the empty bed. She doubted that he could walk on his own for very far, but aside from the spilled water there was no sign of a struggle. His blasters and armor hadn't been touched either. She shut her mouth with an audible click, not realizing it had fallen open. Taking a slow breath to calm her mind, she spun on her heel and exited the room. She heard blaster fire coming from down the hall, and ran to aide Fives.

She deflected blaster shots, and slashed at countless droids. She let Fives take out the majority, instead using her blades to try to create a shield around both of them, since he had no armor on.

They advanced, pushing the enemy back until they came upon a safe zone that had been attacked. They finished off the last of the droids, and turned to the safe room. The ship lurched violently again, and Ahsoka stumbled while Fives lost his balance entirely and fell face first onto the floor. They bad to practically crawl into the safe room, where minor grav adjusters made the room somewhat stable. There were three of these rooms throughout the ship.

Ahsoka frowned. Bane had come this way, she was sure of it. But all the clones in the room, some in blacks, others in uniforms, and most in armor, had tan skin. Cad Bane should stand out like carbon scoring on plastiod armor, but he was nowhere to be seen. Ahsoka commed Anakin.

"Master, all of the starboard block is secure. We've got seppies, that's for sure, and maybe Cad Bane on top of it." She said, looking around the room desperately for Rex. She couldn't find him.

"I just had Jesse and Kix report in from the other two rooms. I'm making my way to the port room now. We've almost got the stabilizers online again." Anakin's voice crackled over the comm. Ahsoka hesitated.

"Is Rex with you, or do you know where he is?" She asked tentatively, lowering her voice. There was a bust of crackling static, her Master had suddenly covered the commlink with his hand. When the static cleared, his voice was strained.

"No. He must've... Kark. We've got company on our end. Hold the room." The line went dead. Ahsoka gritted her teeth, scanning the room again. No Rex. She spun back around to face Fives.

"Fives's hold the room. I'm going to look for others." She gritted out, her teeth clenched in a silent panic. She longed for the calm void of battle, or meditation. Five's lips curled into a gentles smile. He understood.

"Yes sir." He saluted, and stumbled again as the ship rocked beneath them. Ahsoka took off down the hall.

A/N ~ So... I'm back. Sorry for the wait, a combination of writer's block and family issues kept me down. I've changed my updating schedule to weekdays only, so I can work on WTCC on the weekends. Also, online school might slow me down a tad too... anyways, I saw the comments about Rex disappearing and couldn't not put it in. Question, I've kinda discontinued the Riddles of the Day, would you like me to start doing them again?
