Chapter 4

I slammed the mallet down on the sword, which lay flat on the charcoal with was burnt. I hissed, why was making swords so much harder than using them?

As I pounded harder, Lucy came in, she was over-seeing everything. She looked over at me with a smile, and I half-smiled back.

Lucy walked over and looked at me, "Edmund's really mad..." she chimed.

"It's not like I can apologize for...Well that" I protested, feebly.

Lucy giggled, "I'm sure he'd appreciate it though."

I nodded, guessing Edmund would hate me until I at least attempted to apologize, so I left my work for another and headed off to see where he was.

I looked around and saw Rilian talking to Peter and Caspian, "Hey Rilian!" I called running over.

He glanced over with a grin and said; ""Something I can help you with, Cassie?"

"Well, I sort of need to find Edmund..." came my troubled mumble. I ignored the amused looks from Peter and Caspian as Rilian turned to answer.

"Last I knew he was on the beach with some ladies." his voice was awkward and I gave a strange dip of my head and was off to find him.

I climbed down the hill that led to the beach and saw Edmund, he was training ladies. I sat down behind some reeds to watch as he said "Ok...one at a time.."

They each had swords and they swung like a flailing ostridge and purposely fell into his arms. I had to hold back an eruption of laughter starting to build up my throat. Each lady swooned into his arms like a drunken dwarf. I stepped out of my hiding place and Edmund saw me as did the ladies. They glared at me obviously not forgetting my honest-to-goodness swordsmanship a few days ago.

"So....this is how you practice...” I glanced at him.

"Well..." Edmund began putting his hand behind his neck causing a few ladies to giggle.

"My father's men could have any of their heads' in a split second." I said trying to hold back my enjoyment in this. The ladies looked at me.

One stepped out in front of me, she reminded me of Juliet, "Well I guess you’re not a real swordsman until your lips are against kings!" The other girls broke out into agreement, screaming at me for what I had done.

I felt the vein in my forehead begin popping out but I tried to control my temper, "I just came here to apologize for it." I hissed, trying to grab my temper which was slipping around my heart like a live fish.

"Why was it really that bad?" the girl chuckled, laughter broke out around her.

I snapped,  her eyes were stupidly staring off at nothing and I slammed my fist into her cheek making her fall flailed on the ground. She stared up at me in pure horror. "See, you’ll be dead by the time the battle has even started."

I saw Lydia emerging a disappointed look on her face, she crossed her arms and shook her head as she walked onto the beach beside me.
"Great apologizing technique... Punching out one of his students..." she whispered, angrily.

I rolled my eyes; I had about had it with Edmund and his juvenile fan club. Edmund was coming up to me, obviously to scold me.

I unsheathed my sword and pointed it at him, "Don't talk to me! Got it!?" I growled.

He seemed mad too, he unsheathed his sword, with a lung at my face which I blocked he snarled, "I am your king, I don't take your orders you take mine."
