Chapter 1

"Cassandra" came Lydia's soft voice, her voice actually annoyed me for once as I shut my book and walked over to the tub were her blue tail stuck half way out. The scales were beautiful and glistened with silver and rainbow shines. The only fish I'd ever seen so amazing were in story books.

"What is it?" I asked her, in a bit of a rotten mood. She was looking around and said, "Could you bring me some more soap." Her eyes' pleading and I had never been able to say 'No' to her before so I walked out of the bathroom and out to the corridor, were I looked around the servant's quarters for any extra soap.

--

The soap I had found was melting, so I was running back to my room. As I ran with haste, I spotted Juliet with some palace boy. I kept my angry mutter to myself.

I turned into our bedroom and dropped the soap into Lydia's tub. She blinked her gratitude and splashed around so much that I had to leave to avoid getting wet.

Leaving her to herself, I walked out of the palace and over to the fountains. They were these beautiful fountains built years ago. They connected to our own bathtub in our room. It was an old escape room, built by Narnians I guessed. I wasn't even sure why you'd want a tube leading from your bathroom to the Narnian border line? After the fountains were Narnian territory, it filled me with strong anxiety on what could be beyond the fountains. As the night slowly began to reach its peek, I decided to head in for the night.

I walked down the rocky path and back onto the main path towards the castle. I stepped in and sighed as I saw Queen Saraphina slapping a maid square across the jaw. I felt anger pulse through me but kept it locked up...as usual.

I slipped up the stairs, right before the top floor, and entered the first door on the right. Lydia was tucked underneath the soft sheets of her bed, her tail lightly out-lined in the pale colored sheets. As I closed the door behind me and prepared for bed, I heard laughing. I ran to my window, and looked down into the back of the castle, near the kitchen's exit. I saw Juliet and three boys...or what she liked to call suitors I didn't have... sucking each other's faces. I felt anger overwhelm me, the 7 years Juliet had been in our lives was 7 too many.

I shrugged the feeling away and quickly changed into my favorite white night gown. It made me feel beautiful, the way it showed my curves and had long sleeves, just like I liked. But my father never let me wear things like this during the day. He said 'It didn't suit a lady of my being' but I just think Juliet convinced him so.

As I lay in my bed and covered myself up with the sheets, I closed my eyes and almost immediately started to dream. I woke in a foggy forest with pine trees and dense undergrowth. I recognized a large, magnificent lion approaching me. His mane was impeccable as the fog stood no chance hiding it's glory. The only thing that gave him any hint of secrecy was the faint gaze he held on me.

"Aslan" I smiled running up to him and hugging his mane, he chuckled, and brushed his pelt against my body, smoothing out all my anger and hatred. "I wish you were real" I mumbled.

He looked up his eyes were neither shocked or offended, "I assure you that I am as real as the obstacles you will face in these next days." his voice was both calm and forceful.

I blinked, "Pardon me?" my confusion seemed to give him some sort of humor, cause with that the lion was gone and all that was left was a dreamless sleep.

I woke up, and looked around, Lydia was in the bathroom -Like she didn't wash enough yesterday- I thought bitterly. I stretched my arms with a tremendous yawn and slipped out of bed. My legs were wobbly and I blinked several times just for the floor to appear. It was like I hadn't slept all night.
