Chapter 7
I kept my gaze at the stairs; he had to come out but hopefully with a different scroll.
We waited, Lydia grew impatient and the man came down again. He had a light sweat and he was panting as he ran down the stairs. -He knew the speech was gone.-
I jumped out of hiding and hit him with my sword, if he told father about a missing scroll and the times book open. It would ruin the whole operation. So I hit the man in the head and shoved him in the servant's quarters not too far down the hall.
This had better work...
I looked around for Lydia, but she'd disappeared from my side. I felt pain rise deep in my chest as I saw the moonlight shining through a large glass window towering over the room.
Lydia lay at the bottom of the stairs, she was trying to heave herself, but her tail weighed too much. I ran to her and tried to lift the thing, but it got difficult and I couldn't carry my sword. If I left it my father would no something had happened.
I hunched over and stared at the tail, trying to put a plan together. But nothing came, my entire mind was blank.
Something snapped me back into reality I turned seeing a figure among the shadows, and wrapped my fingers around my sword. It was...Henry?!
He saw I'd spotted him and he walked over cautiously to Lydia's other side. "Wow...." he gaped.
I studied him carefully, he had a muscular shape so I quickly snapped, "If you loved Lydia you'd carry her to the fountains."
"What?" he yelped, looking at me bewildered.
Lydia gave me a glare too.
"What other choice do we have???" I growled. I handed her the scroll and looked at Henry, "I know this is weird but if you don't help her now, she'll die."
That seemed good enough to get his attention.
He put both his arms around her and picked her up, Lydia smiled, she would obviously enjoy this.
"Hurry up!" I growled at him and he turned to the back door and headed to the fountains.
I headed back to the ballroom door, were the couples were lining up at the bottom. My father had a daunting look on his face. My heart lurched again, the speech....
I had to think of what to do fast before he figured out Narnia wouldn't settle for two separate nations. Then a thought came over me, the same thing I should have done before.
Juliet was standing next to my father giving the corny ceremony then she called her 'King' "Edmund of Narnia." came her simple and charming voice.
I raised my eyebrow, Perfect.
I opened the door and slipped into the ballroom, Edmund was walking up to her a worried look on his face, I could feel Peter's stare burning through me, it wasn't supposed to go this far.
A little ways a way I saw Helena bristling up; I ran to her quickly and whispered my plan. She nodded a large smile on her face. No matter our differences in the past, now we had to do this for Narnia as a team....and we had to help Edmund....
"Edmund of Narnia...." came my father's voice. I took out my fan and started waving it, Helena getting into position, "Do you take Princess Juliet to be your loftily wedded wife?"
Juliet looked like she was about to implode with excitement, she had always wanted to marry royalty. Since we were little she'd tell everyone, but this was one thing I could take from her, I grinned
A large screech broke across the room, Helena was on her knees and holding her head, "You cannot marry her! For I love you, my KING!"
Edmund started getting nervous as he put his hand behind his head, and I felt the entire room either gape or gasp.
Helena ran up and threw herself at his feet, I saw Juliet was about to kick her and I yelled, "NO! Neither of you can take Edmund, I love him!"
Juliet glared at me, her eyes glaring and body trembling with anger. I ran up and hugged Edmund from behind making him squeak. Helena grabbed my hand and untwisted me; we fought as well as we could in dresses, making each hit believable.
I looked down at the crowd and saw Caspian laughing, I widened my eyes for him to go, and he nodded sending the first wing of Narnians headed out the door. He gave me a nod and I continued my little show.
I mock slapped Helena and then Juliet grabbed both are arms and threw us down to our knees with great force. Greater then I knew she had. She glared at both me and Helena with an icy cold blue stare.
She started talking and for once I listened.
"You little witch!" Juliet hissed at me slapping me square across the jaw. I felt the pain but didn't respond to it, I just stared back up at her breathing hard. Helena grabbed my arm and squeezed obviously thinking I'd hit.
Juliet stared at the crowd, and then back at us, "I'm your princess, and I will be your queen, if you do not treat me with the upmost honor." she said walking toward where Edmund stood speechless on the stage. She wrapped her arms around him; he looked at her a bit wary and sighed.
"He will be my husband...so you 2 can get down and leave this room." the crowd was silent some looked at Juliet admiringly. I hissed knowing this was making her look like a noble speaker, a quality needed by a queen. "Get down now. I order you."
That's when I snapped up; "You order me!" came my shaky yell, Caspian who was about to leave turned hearing my voice. Helena tried to grab me but I let her fall as I moved my arm away quickly.
"Yes I order you, I am your queen. Now step back." Juliet said confidently.
"You are not my queen; I was queen until you took it. I had a home, but you took it. You took everything I ever loved from me, and now I'll take the only thing you have." came my crazed voice, coming out as quick breaths as my anger engulfed half my body.
"And what is that?" Juliet sneered.
My heart was beating so fast I thought I would have a heart attack. But this was not the time or place to do this. If I was going to stay true to Narnia I couldn't ruin this plan.
"Nothing." I said, briskly.
I headed down the stairs from that center area, Helena following me indifferently. She stood by me and we walked through the crowd as the Ginians split in half to give us a path.
Caspian gave us both a nod, and I led Helena out of the ball room so we could lead the next group of Narnians out of the castle.
King Franklin looked at Caspian and he said: "Edmund will not be marrying your daughter. We were wrong to find peace with a people who have not found it themselves."
Edmund let out a deep sigh in relief and ran down to join the others.
My father looked at Caspian as if he'd just scolded him like a father to a child. Caspian didn't wait for a response but headed out with the rest of Narnia.

I sat at the beach my feet covered with sand, the only thing comforting me right now. What had gone down in the castle was supposed to be a scene but it had turned into something else. It was all my anger that I'd felt for that witch pouring out after 7 years.
I brushed the hair out of my face, Lydia swam by and I watched her swim easily in the water. Everyone was in the tent looking over the scroll of times. I had had to stay outside. I didn't feel like talking to anyone right now. Lydia was keeping Henry company on the other side of the beach. I didn't feel like talking to them either....
I heard walking behind me and looked back to see Lucy. She smiled and sat down beside me with a sigh.
I let her putting my head on her shoulder.
