A big mess

The earthquake

Georgie and Milan we're laying under the rubble of the collapsed building. "Georgie! Georgie!" He shouted she didn't reply she was laying unconscious trapped under 2 huge wooden sleepers. Everyone was looking for her they knew she was missing but they thought she had gone to collect diesel. After 20 minutes of laying there Georgie woke up "Milan?" She questioned barely a whisper he was laying near her he could see her "Georgie!" He said she burst into tears "I thought you were dead!" He cried "I'm not dead, but I'm hurt" she cried "it's alright, they're going to find us" he said holding out his hand Georgie moved her arm and held his hand "it's my leg" she cried "it's alright Georgie, it's going to be alright" he said stroking her hand "are you okay?" She asked he nodded "I'm fine" he smiled "just keep hold of me" she cried he smiled "I've got you" he smiled.
After 2 hours in the building Georgie was getting weak. "Are you alright?" He asked "I think I've lost quite a lot of blood" she said lifting her hand up covered in blood "I've been trying to keep my hand on it, keep pressure on it but I can't anymore" she cried. Milan sat up slowly "don't move" she cried "I need to help you" he said. He lied down and moved to the other side of Georgie "you've broken it, open break" he said "for fuck sake" she cried putting her hand to her head "ive got, I've got a bandage" she said "where?" He asked "my pocket" she said "it's stuck under the beam" he said "Milan I'm going to be bleed out" she cried "no no your not but this needs to be put back in" he said "you can't do that" she cried "I'm going to have to Georgie you've barely got a pulse you could lose your leg" he said Georgie burst into tears "just help me Milan" she cried "You've got nothing to be scared of" he said "that's what I say to everyone, and inside I know they might not live, Milan, please I don't want to die" she cried "your not going to die!" He said "I don't want to lose my leg either" she cried "your leaving here with 2" he smiled holding her hand "ready?" He asked she nodded and gripped the wooden beam "3,2" and he cracked her leg back into place and she screamed she had never felt pain like it. He took his tshirt off pressing it down on her bleeding leg "it's in, I've got a strong pulse" he smiled she cried into her hands "fuck" she said "they'll be able to find us after that scream" he laughed she smiled and grabbed his hand "it feels a lot better now" she said "thank you" she said he smiled "so, this Elvis guy" he said laying low holding the shirt on her leg "what about him?" She asked "your eyes light up every time you talk about him" he smiled she smiled "we're done, we were done a long time ago" she said "I don't think you are" he said "he left me at the alter" she said "so you do still love him" he said "I can't be happy with him again" she said "yes you can" he smiled "have you spoke to him about why he didn't turn up?" He asked she nodded "he's got a little girl called Laura. Debbie, her mum, she turned up on the morning of our wedding and told him about Laura, he didn't want to go through with it knowing I didn't know he had a child" she said "he had a good reason" he said she nodded "I've always loved him but loving each other was never the problem" she said just then someone shouted her name she was starting to drift in and out of consciousness "Georgie you stay with me" said Milan "help! We're in here!" He shouted "is Georgie in there?" Shouted Charlie "yes she's stuck under a wooden beam. She's got an open break to her left tibia, I had to put it back in she was losing a pulse in her leg" he shouted "Milan is she okay?" He asked "she's drifting in and out she's lost a lot of blood" he said "alright were going to get you out" he said Milan nodded "the roof is really unstable" he said Charlie nodded "right I'm going to throw you 2 helmets I want you to put one on George and on you and I want you stay low whilst we get you out" he said "okay" he shouted he put a helmet on and then lifted Georgie's head "they're here Georgie" he said she opened her eyes slowly "I'm okay" she said weakly shutting her eyes again. "She's unconscious!" Milan shouted Elvis crawled in and reached Milan "right I want you to follow this rope out carefully okay" he said Milan nodded and Elvis held Georgie's hand and unpacked the fabric stretcher "hey George, it's me" he smiled tears in his eyes she didn't even move "Georgie!" He shouted shaking her she opened her eyes again "Elvis?" She questioned he smiled and lent forward kissing her hand "I love you" he said she smiled "I love you too" she said closing her eyes "Georgie I just need you awake for a minute for me, we need to get this beam off of you alright, are your hips hurting?" He asked she nodded "my left" she said Elvis nodded and Spanner knelt down next to him "we've not got any pain relief I'm afraid George" he said "just do it" she cried weakly "I'll lift it your going to have to pull her out" he said Elvis splinted her leg and held Georgie under her arms "ready George your coming my way alright?" He asked she nodded and held his hands under her arms "3,2,1" spanner said and lifted the beam the roof collapsed a bit more, Georgie cried in pain as Elvis lent over Georgie shielding her "are you okay?" She asked he nodded "I'm fine" he smiled she held his hand to her face and closed her eyes again "let's just get her out" he said spanner nodded they got her on the stretcher and dragged her out slowly where the medical helicopter was waiting. "I'm going with her" said Elvis holding her hand as they walked her to the helicopter "alright" Charlie smiled as he climbed in with her holding her hands. Milan smiled at them "she really loves you" he said looking at Elvis "why we're you in there?" He asked tears in his eyes "it was my idea" she said her eyes still closed Elvis just didn't say anything "oh Georgie" he said sitting down on the floor of the helicopter holding her hand to his face "look at this mess" he said she just lied there her eyes closed. They landed at the hospital and they took her in Milan walked in with Elvis "she will be alright" said Milan he nodded "I know, she's a fighter that one, why did I ever let her go!" He said scolding himself "she's forgiven you, just don't let her go again" said Milan walking into the hospital to get checked over Elvis just stood and watched everyone go past he thought about Georgie, about life, the life he wanted with her.
