The troops were pinned down, stuck in the tower, it felt like there was no way out.
"Kirin, can you see a way out." Valor shouted in desperation.
"No, not from here." Kirin replied as another catapult blast hit the tower.
"Over here." Shouted Curtis " We can zip line down these ropes with these staffs." He said as he picked up one of the bo staffs that was laying down next to him.
"Good idea Curtis, you 2 go first, I'll draw their fire." Valor shouted as Kirin and Curtis used the ropes to get away. Arrows after arrows flew at Valor, some on fire, it was his turn.
Valor grabbed the bo staff and zip lined down the rope, only to start falling because of the rope being shot with a fire arrow.
Valor was falling, screaming for his life, he held on to the rope and when it started swinging from side to side, he let go when there was enough speed, he landed and was out of the line of fire of the enemy for a minute."Valor, come on, we have to leave!!!" Curtis shouted, as Valor ran down to the boat as fast as he could, jumping to get into it when he was at the start of the river. The mission was a success and the men made it out without injury.
"Another day, another deadman." Curtis humoured the group. Curtis was the jokester, ever since the Jade creature promoted him to infiltrator he was as cocky as he could ever be, squeezed in a joke wherever he could just for the sake of it, he was a good man Curtis, a brave soldier.
Kirin was the smart one, he had received extra intelligence training from the sergeants in the training course because they thought he lacked basic fighting knowledge, he to was promoted to infiltrator by the Jade creature.
I, Valor, was their commander, I was initially assigned my own legion to command alongside the Jade creature, but with him gone I just couldn't see myself being responsible for the lives of so many men alone. I stuck to missions with Kirin and Curtis, they were my best friends, I trusted them with my life.
After the Jade creature left, the Vikings returned to their home and promised never to attack the kingdom, Bjorik comes back to the kingdom once a month to see what's happening. If you don't know who Bjorik is he is a Viking commander, a good friend of the Jade creatures, fought valiantly with him, I also trusted him with my life.
We had just been on a rogue mission, behind the backs of the kingdom generals, we were fighting against the Red Knights, they caused the destruction of the samurai and the lives of many innocents, just because one of their own lied to the kingdom, saying he was from the future.
We arrived at the kingdom, we walked in like nothing had happened and returned to the barracks where we all settled for the night. While we were inside changing out of our armour, a general came in.
"Men, at ease, I have a task for you, it's quite important, I would be very appreciative if you could keep it between us."
General Borden, a long time member of the council, former commander in the 18th platoon and general of the army. He favoured our team more than any other, not sure why but we'll take it as a compliment for now.
"The Red Knights have been sighted at the fishing docks just across the lake, no one has ever been there before to my knowledge, I would like you to check it out." He explained.
The Red Knights before lying to the kingdom were considered a neutral group, held back because of an inability to speak to outsiders, only themselves.
The men left the following morning a went to the fishing docks, there they were greeted with a shocked fisherman that was struggling to stand up.
"They're...they're.... they're here, they're coming, THEIR GONNA KILL US ALL!!" He shouted pointing to were he thought he saw the red knights. Valor stood and looked over there and noticed there was something that wasn't right, there was something there, and no one according to General Borden had ever been there, Valor and the men were intrigued, and prepared a boat to get to the other side.
The deranged fisherman passed out on the floor probably because of exhaustion, he had probably been screaming for the whole day, maybe even longer than that. The men got in the boat and made their way to the other side of the lake.
"How much do you bet there's nothing there, just a bunch of gypsies, or even better, some jungle hooligans hahaha!!!" Curtis laughed, while the other men facepalmed. "I was only saying myself a joke, what harm can be done it that?" He questioned still laughing a little bit from the previous thing he said.
They made it to the other side, they left the boat as far away from the area as possible so that no one could steal it if there was someone there. They moved into the forest and headed to roughly were the fisherman had said he saw something.
They started hearing noises, noises of people, soldiers, could it have been....? They walked closer and closer until they finally found what they were looking for.
"Oh my god." Valor said to himself. "This cannot be....."
