The men had been living in the village for about 3 weeks, the villagers were kind and friendly and the men were happy to live there.
The head of the village, Carlton, appointed the Order of Jade as the protectors of the village, and if there was any threat to the villages safety, it was the orders job to take care of it.It was a sunny day, and the order had just began to take watch over the village. Valor was on duty, while the other men waited for their shift. Bjorik went to speak with Carlton, the head of the village, to learn more about him, since they had not gotten a chance to have a full on conversation with him.
"Carlton." Bjorik addressed, as he walked into Carltons house.
"Bjorik, it good to finally have the chance to talk to you." Carlton laughed lifting his arms.
Bjorik was slightly sceptical about his personality, he was sort of like the other of person who could snap after you sub consciously mentioned one of you family members causing him to remember one of his.
"So....tell me about yourself, how did you become the head of this village." Bjorik asked trying his best not to make the conversation awkward.
"I killed the last head, that's the village tradition, if you challenge me one to a battle they have to accept." Carlton revealed for some reason, this made Bjorik realise that he lacked basic knowledge that was needed to survive.
"Right.....uh, I'll come back later alright I think.....um, I think Valor needs help with something....yeah" Bjorik made up as he quickly exited Carltons hut and gathered the men.
"What is it." Valor asked.
Bjorik looked very confused and he didn't really know where to start.
"Well...Carlton, he is really stupid, he revealed to me that you have to kill the head of the village to take his position, he literally gave it away without holding back, I think he is knowledge deficient." Bjorik explained, to the shock of the men.
Curtis was especially confused.
"Wait, how could he have managed to kill the previous leader of he's that dumb." Curtis asked.
"Anyone can kill a man, he probably stuck a knife in his throat while he was asleep." Kirin said.
The men then took a second to think about the situation, if the village had a leader that had no basic knowledge how were they going to survive if the men weren't there to protect them, if it wasn't for the men they would have died in the attack.
"Alright, we'll stick around for a little while, find out a little bit more about this guy, if we deem him unable to lead we'll deal with him." Valor ordered, and the men agreed.
"Understood, we can't have this village left with a bad leader, this rule of challenging has to go." Bjorik suggested.
"A tradition is a tradition, we can't change that." Kirin explained to Bjoriks demise.
"Yeah your right." Bjorik admitted, and the men finished their conversation.
Valor was sceptical about the situation, they had to figure out a way to deal with Carlton without turning the village against them, if they were to ever leave the village, they had to make sure they could defend themselves without them.
There had to be a way.....
