Chapter 13

Chapter 13- The Purple Paladin

AN: Well look who's back. I am indeed alive. I have not written more of this book for a while. Over the past year or so, so many things have happened, I have a year and a half left of school and I have so many commitments now but I am coming back to start writing. I honestly missed this so much. I will be re-editing the previous chapters because I decided to re-read some and my 14-year-old self did not do me justice back then. Your POV~

Sitting back down inside of the castle ship with everyone together, my head begins to feel heavy; a tingling sensation in the deep corners of my brain. It felt so unnatural, so wrong. I stay quiet. Probably just a weird space headache, right? I thought.

"Man, that was so cool!" Lance exclaims, pumping his fists. Rubbing my forehead. I smile at him. "I'm so charged up, I don't know if I'm going to be able to sleep tonight."

"Not me. When my head hits the pillow, I'm going to be lights out." Keith replies with a smile towards the blue paladin. I try my best to ignore the pain I'm feeling, and I push a smile out towards the boys talking.

Smiling I reply. "You've always been like that." He smiles with admiration back.

"I just want you to know that I realised when we were in Voltron, we're a family, man," Hunk says as he wraps his arms around Kieth and Lance. "You know Like, we're totally connected. No secrets, no barriers, no nothing." I try to laugh at this view because it seems like all the stress has been absorbed from the group and we're all carefree at the moment. Majority of us, that is. I turn my head to the side to see Shiro dropping his hand onto Pidge's shoulder as she pets the space mice. She smiles up at him. "Brothers all the way." I clear my throat. "And Y/N. I love you guys." He squeezes the boys tighter giving me a genuine grin.

"G-forces mess with your head a little bit?" Keith questions to Hunk.

"Yeah, maybe a little. I don't know. It's been a tough few days."

"Tell me about it. At least everybody's still alive and we haven't killed each other yet." I respond glaring at the boys. Keith sticks his tongue out at me and Lance rolls his eyes.

Shiro clears his throat. "Well. I'm going to bed." We nod in response and the group starts to disband murmuring synonyms for goodnight like 'night'.

I stand up and stretch my arms above my head. At least that pain in my head stopped while I was listening to the boys speaking. The boys leave the room and I move to leave. "Going to bed Katie?"

"In a minute." She replies giving me a lopsided smile. I can tell that it's forced.

I squat down in front of her and grab her hands in mine. "We'll find Matt, okay? He's basically my brother too."

The mice run up her hand and onto mine. I rub her hands and look her straight in the eyes. "I promise."

"I guess that we have another thing in common. We both lost our brothers." She frowns at me

"I guess so. We'll find Matt and Thomas one day." I frown back before murmuring goodnight again and leaving the room.

Third Person POV on Zarkon's ship ~

Zarkon and Haggar stand triumphantly looking out into space. "This beast and the spell you have on the Purple Paladin will allow us to destroy the paladins." He says as a giant ship is moved in front of them. "And then, Voltron will be ours." He finishes as the ship rockets out into the open obis of space.

Lance's POV~

As everyone is walking out of the room, I notice that Pidge and Y/N stay behind. I ignore this and roll my eyes, Something has been wrong with her ever since she came out of that healing pod and say Keith and I fighting. She's being so inconsiderate and petty, she's never been like this, even on her worst days. Something is up and I'm going to ask her best friend even if I do tend to despise him at times. Keith is already out of eyesight when I do start paying attention again, he's probably already in his room by now. Shiro notices me still standing at the door. 

"You okay?"

I nod and he nods back and continues walking to his room. I do the same. I watch as Shiro gets into his room. He smiles at me once again as he walks inside. Instead of going straight into mine. I walk a little further and I knock on Keith's door. I hear him groan on the other side. I hear the light thumps of his steps moving closer to the door before he opens it. The door slides open and at first, he doesn't register that it's me knocking. When he does he groans in annoyance and rubs his face. The exhaustion evident. "Yes?"

"We need to talk," I respond

"Not now we don't. Can it wait until later?"

"No. It's about Y/N."

I hear footsteps lightly approaching from a distance.

"What about her?" he questions, quirking an eyebrow up at me.

"Just let me in. It's important." I push

"Fine." he sighs moving to the side to let me walk in. Almost immediately, I rush in eager to get out of the way before Y/N sees.
