The Purple Paladin ~Lance vs Keith x Reader~

Chapter 5

"Y/N?" Keith said

"Oh, Keith. Sorry I was just thinking." I reassured him

"Hey, don't worry about it, we all have our parts to play. Don't think that we need to depend on you 24/7." He assured me "I mean Shiro and I won't, I don't know about-."

Keith was cut off by Allura as she cleared her throat, "Keith, Y/N. Here is your suits and Bayards!" She said enthusiastically 

"Whats a Bayard?" I inquired 

"It's your traditional Voltron weapon!" Coran stated

"How?" Keith asked

"May I?" The princess asked

"Sure!" I said as the princess took my Bayard and concentrated until the Bayard turned into a dagger. "The Bayard is connected to your mind, it gives you the weapon that it believes you are most skilled and comfortable with. Give it a try!" 

We all held our bayards and concentrated, one by one our bayards turned into weapons. Except for Shiro, whose Bayard was lost in a battle with its previous paladin. Keith's Bayard turned into a sword, Lance's turned into a 'space' gun, Pidge's turned into a small dagger that connects to a chain, Hunk's turned into what seems to be a machine gun and mine turned into a katana. 

"Woah!" I heard everyone say

"Enough excitement, we have to get the other lions. Seeing as we already have the Blue Lion, Lance you will be taking Hunk to get his lion, Keith you will be going with Y/N and Shiro you will be going with Pidge. I will be sending the coordinates to the Blue Lion and our other transportation vehicles." Allura said and we nodded 

"What are we waiting for?" I asked as I ran out of the room

We all headed to our rooms, got suited up and met up at the hanger.

"What's taking that guy so long?" Hunk asked

"Knowing Lance, he's probably staring at himself in the mirror." Pidge estimated "Hunk, go get him and then get going. We can't waste precious time." Hunk nodded and ran off. Keith and I got in a vehicle and so did Shiro and Pidge. 

Lance's P.O.V~

"Why was she holding his hand? What does she think of him? What does she think of me? Does he like her?" I asked myself in a depressing tone. "Who wouldn't like her? She's a full-on badass and she's gorgeous. I'm surprised she never had a boyfriend back at the Garrison. Or did she, her and Keith seem to have a 'tight' relationship."  I sat down on the bed, I took a breath in and out, calming myself of my thoughts.

"Lance?" I heard Hunk say my name "Lance, buddy. Stop admiring yourself and get to the Hanger. NOW!

I got up and opened the door.

"Hey Lance, are you ok? You look depressed." Hunk asked, his voice laced in worry

"I'm fine. Let's go before everyone decides to kick my butt." I replied

"They already left on their missions and Allura and Coran are fixing the castle." 

"Who's with Y/N?" I asked

"Uh, Keith is. Why?" 

"Just wondering," I said as I looked down at the ground

"You care about her, don't you?" He asked

I didn't respond until we got to the location that the programmed coordinates sent us to. I looked around the location searching for an entryway as the lion seemed to be in a mountain. We kept looking until we were interrupted by Galra ships. I found an entryway to the cave, I flew towards it and told Hunk to jump.
