Growth can simply be defined as an increase in size which can be through weight or height.

No. Not that one.
Maturity does not come with age or an increase in height or weight. It's something you develop. In a way, it's a form of intelligence since it shows in how you respond to various actions or situations. This is why it's very possible for a 15 year old to be more mature than a 30 year old.

In summary, a mature person is responsible and reasonable.
He or she:

#1 Does not blame others for their wrongs or things that could have not been controlled.
#2 Is willing to accept what is coming. It could be obstacles or change.
#3 Does what is right no matter what other people are doing and not what's easy.
#4 Thinks before speaking or taking actions.
#5 Cares about the feelings of others.

Maturity can be seen through what you say and what you do so people can always tell even though you don't seem to notice.
