Early morning am again with Alex and Ms Smith uphill at the trail of Gotham. His really quiet for my liking.

"Say something, " I exclaimed.

"I know you went," again this topic.

"What's with you Alex," am now irritated.

"Let me go ahead guys. You've got plenty to talk about," Ms Smith admits.

Am now racing in the same spot, "but I really had a good time."

"Okay," he seems shocked. His eyes now meet mine. He smiles at me and off we go to catch up with Ms Smith. She's sitting on a log by the bend.

"Problems solved?" She asks.

"What problems?" both Alex and I say in unison.

The day goes by in a blur. Am resting by my bed when someone knocks my door. I walk to the door and open it to see Mr Smith his carrying cookies.

"May I?" he asks.

"Yes come in. Sorry," I reply as he offers me the cookies and sits on the couch.
I take the cookies to the refrigerator since I just had my dinner a few minutes back, "thank you for the cookies."

"Which you've decided to keep."

"No no I just had dinner. I'll eat them up in a few."

"Actually," he gets serious now, "I wanna talk to you about the trail."he continues. " I've tried warning my wife against taking that trail but she never agrees to it. Please endeavor to keep watch of each other whenever in a run. Am scared for her."

"Yes yes surely," I reply.

"Don't ever leave her behind. " That trail ain't safe but my wife never admits. Just promise me to keep watch of her. She's my life."

"I totally understand and will put that to count."

Come to think of it,it may not be something bad to run uphill north of the trail but the thick bushes and creepy sounds send chills to me as well. The chirruping of birds and moving of twigs never stops sounding to your ears. And as you go ahead it seems to increase bit by bit. Am a runner. I never mind. Fear isn't one of my traits.

"I'll count on you to keep your word," he concludes as he stands to leave. "Have a lovely night child."

"Thank you," I reply as he kisses my forehead.

Am left lying on my bed replaying the days events.

Alec Mahole.

His deep blue eyes.

Well chiselled jaws.

The smile. And

Pale skin. I feel goosebumps overwhelm me.

Then Vondrich's words replay.

"Stay away from Alec."

"His not your boyfriend yet."
What did he mean I ain't sane till I revive. In other words, he used too much of parables not directed to me probably.
The way he held my hand tight, I could feel my soul being dragged too at the same time. My bones hurt instantly.

Then Alec comes to my rescue. Knight in a shining armor.
