Its the third day since Ms Smith had gone missing. Mr Smith is more seldom at the store, his always indoors at his house making phone calls and inquiring. I barely see him, so am left all alone at the store.

Good thing Alex has been spending so much time comforting me at all my free hours. He even moved into my house but he uses the couch. The other day he was even able to lock up his store and attend to mine as I grieved in my covers. He was a definition of a true brother.

"I can't believe I've gotten a best friend this fast," I talk to myself.

"You didn't have one," Alex replies.

"How did you hear that," I look up at him.

"You were pretty loud." I wasn't loud, maybe I was.

Am left at the store after Alex goes for some errands. Its weird clients have reduced too, everyone is grieving. So I decide to lock the store and go back to my house when someone taps my back.

"Hey," I jump off my skin just by the sound of his voice. My heart starts flipping again, I could feel my cheeks turn red.

"Hey Alec, you scared me."

"Am sorry Kathryn," the way he calls my name sends butterflies to my stomach. "You're locking up." he notices the store keys swinging in my hand.

"Yes am leaving early today."

"Can I walk you to your house?"

"No Alec, you can't just turn up in thin air like a ghost," I say. I've been preparing to say this for the past three weeks. Immediately after the date,he went cave man on me. I got the most weird impression ever.
"You ghost me for three weeks, no text or call."

" Am sorry," Is all he says.

"Doesn't help," I reply not looking into his cunning eyes. I knew just having eye contact would melt me instantly. " Just let me be."

"Are you dating Alex now?" he caught me off guard.

"What!" but what if it helps, I had to say yes to get him off my case. "Actually his my boyfriend."

"Kathryn Forbes!" his shocked, calling my full names. "Look into my eyes and admit you don't feel anything for me."

"Am already clear about the yes word," I insist.
He walks out of the store speechless and am left wondering whether to call him back or not, feeling really depressed after sending him off. Having that dinner with him had built a certain hope in me but the moment he didn't call, I lost it. How could a very attractive guy as Mahole like someone as me! I was off his league.

Then the haunting words from Vondrich summed it all up. We're definitely from different worlds and different identities.

Even if I rejected him, but I'll always have the memory of him in my heart. Always.

Hello readers what do you think of Alec Mahole's character of ghosting Kathryn Forbes? Is it something selfish or smart choice. Please comment and vote. Xoxo
