"Where are my brushes?!" Madds scream at us as she frantically looks everywhere.
"Madds! I don't need makeup. You helping me with what to wear is enough." I tell her, trying to convince her to not do my makeup since with her stressing around, it makes all six of us stressed as well.
Her energy just quickly goes through the whole room, affecting each and everyone of us. Oh Madds.
"You know, it's just a date. Doesn't mean anything." I say to the girls.
"Girl! He's Greek God hot!"
"I know but I don't do relationships anymore. I don't want to. Not after... you know."
"We understand you Al. Atleast give it a try. You never know." Emma says wiggling my eyebrows and I throw a pillow at her.
Ever since the break up, I may have moved on already but I'm just not ready to trust anyone again. Andrew broke me bad and now, I just don't want to get hurt like that again. I'm happy with my friends and that's all I need.
"I found it!" Madds exclaim and I swear, I heard the whole group exhale and I can't help but laugh.
"No no no no! Madds, you're not wiping my face with that brush." I tell her and I swear she was about to burst as she gives me her bitch look, and like they say, if looks could kill, I would be dead by now.
"BITCH! I had to find my brushes everywhere, organize all my makeup stuff in this table, and for what? For you to say no? Nuh uh girl. Now sit your ass here!" She scolds me and the tone of her voice makes me obey, not wanting to feel the full force of her anger.
"It's not like I asked her to bring those out." I whisper to Em and we both chuckled when Madds coughs.
"I'll sit down if I were you Al." Emma whispers and I do as they say.
"Okay now. Do you know where he's taking you? Or what you guys are doing later?" She asks and I shake my head no.
"He only said to wear something warm."
"Ooh. Then I think I know where he's taking you." She says and I ask her where, only for her to ignore me.
"Okay now sush and let me do magic to you!"
Half an hour later, Madds was finally done touching my face with hundreds of chemicals.
"What. A. Masterpiece!" Madds exclaims as she looks at me.
"Can I look in the mirror now?" I ask since she didn't let me watch through the whole process.
"Yes!" Oh thank God.
I walk to the mirror and standing there, across me is a whole different girl.
Her dark emerald green eyes seem to be sparkling with the light eye makeup. All my facial features that I didn't even notice are now more prominent. And my hair... it's... it definitely looks better. Madds had my hair in a half up, half down updo and it feels nice and light, if you know what I mean.
I gotta be honest. I love this look.
"So...?" Madds asks and I give her a smile.
"I love it." I say and she squeals in excitement.
"Of course you'll love it. I did that! Okay, now for your outfit!" Oh yeah. I forgot this isn't over yet.
Madds called in Emma and Keith to see her work of art and to help her choose the right outfit for me.
"Woah." Keith says as soon as she sees me.
"This isn't Alex. This is Alexandra. Damn." Emma comments and I laugh.
"Hey, I'm still the Alex you know. I just look different."
"Madds did great. Didn't even know you got prominent cheekbones. I like it."
"Okay I know my work is great and all, but I called you here to help me choose the perfect outfit for her as I have so many wonderful clothes that I want her to wear." Madds says as she pulls out outfits that were already in pairs.
The girl pulls out outfits one by one for the two to judge and a hundred outfits later, they haven't found the perfect one as it was either "too closed" or "too revealing".
"I got it!" Keith suddenly says as she gets a couple outfits and pushes me to the bathroom to change.
I look at what she got me and I think I'm going to like this one.
It was simple black leggings, a plain black long sleeve and an army green jacket. I put it on and went out to the girls.
"Since it's just their first date and they're going somewhere, I thought it was nice for her to wear something simple and easy to move around. Plus I kept it simple since Madds already did great on her face and hair. We don't want to overdo anything." Keith explains as I give the girls a twirl and they all approve of the look.
"You're missing just one more detail. Hold up." Emma says, running outside and after a few seconds, she brings in her maroon Timberlands.
"Here. To complete the look. You're lucky we have the same size." She gives me the shoes and I put them in.
"And you're good to go!" They say and I thank them for doing this to me.
I look at the mirror for one last time, before grabbing the essentials and going out.
"You look... beautiful Al." I heard Liam say and I thank him as the girls wished me good luck on my date with the Greek God.
"Stay safe!"
"Use protection!" I'm pretty sure it was Enzo who shouted that.
I reached the cafe where I met Ares and I scanned the place to look where he was.
I soon found him on his phone at the corner of the cafe, and damn does he look good.
He was wearing a denim jacket over a dark green shirt, with black pants and what makes his overall look a ten is his bandana.
I walk towards him and he soon notices me and gives me a hug and a kiss on the cheek.
"You're looking good." He says.
"See how you copied my look?" I tell him and only then did he realize we had similar outfits, plus the same boots brand. His were black while mine were maroon.
"Not bad. You ready to go?" He asks and I nod.
"Oh I got this for you." He hands me a cup of coffee. Hmm. He remembered my drink.
"Thanks." I said and he led me out to his car and when I saw his ride, my jaws dropped.
"It's... it's the... 1969 Chevrolet Camaro... holy shit. This is your ride?" I say in disbelief and he gets his keys from his pocket, presses one of the buttons and the car's headlights blinked.
"No way. This is the car of my dreams! And it's here! In front of me. God I'm so tempted to steal your keys." I tell him in a joking manner and he chuckles.
"Well? Do you wanna get in or not?" He asks, holding out the passenger's door for him and I slowly walked around the car, too scared to even breathe near it.
"Relax Alex. You can touch it." I got in the car and the smell of fresh leather hit my nose, as if he just bought the car yesterday.
He gets in and turns on the engine, and that was one of the most beautiful sounds I've heard. Oh damn I still can't believe I'm actually sitting inside this Camaro. What the shit.
"You good?" He asks and I shake my head no, still speechless...
"Well then, sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride." He stepped on the gas and there, we went driving away in this oh so beautiful 1969 Chevrolet Camaro.
I was able to collect myself enough to start the conversation again.
"So where are we going?" I asked.
"You'll see when we get there." He winks at me and I can't help but blush, so I looked away and focused on the road and forest on either side of the road.
"You're not going to murder me in the middle of the forest are you...?" I know I know. I'm not being paranoid. I just watched a lot of serial killer documentaries and most of the killers took their victims deep in the forest, sexually assaulted them, killed them, and either buried their corpses or left them to rot.
"What? Course not. I'm not going to let someone as hot as you die in some random forest. God woman your mind!" He laughs and I'm just making sure. Okay fine. Yes I'm a little paranoid.
"So I'm guessing you live here?" I ask him out of the blue.
"Yep. Since birth. This place has been my home ever since, so I know everyone who lives here and I know every inch of this small place."
"Hmm so what activities can we do here? I mean, besides the beach, the cafe, and the ocean, what else can we do here?" I ask him since I want to have the best time with the group so here I am, looking for adventures.
"For one, I could teach you guys how to surf. Though it's not the best season for the big waves, so I'll be recommending camping in the forest."
"No way! You can camp here?"
"Yep. I can be your guide slash instructor if you want." Oh my god. Camping with the group would be the best thing to do. Just us and no phones and far far away from the city life. That would be the perfect getaway for us.
"We're near." He says.
"I just noticed that we're going deeper and deeper into the forest. You sure you ain't planning to kill me?" I ask, but this time in a joking manner.
"Yes, I'm sure. You can check my trunk to see if I keep knives in there." He replies and I chuckle.
Soon, he parks just in front of a small cabin with people going in and out. Huh, I wonder what we're doing here.
He got out, and just before I open my door, he rushes to my side and opens it for me.
"I could've opened it for myself you know." I say, teasing him.
"Then I can't be the right gentleman for you." He replies and I smile, accepting his hand as he helps me out. Even though I don't need it. Let's not deflate his pride now shall we.
Before we went to the cabin, he goes to the trunk and I follow him, curious as to what he has in there.
"I don't have knives Alex. You're so stubborn huh." He says as I look over his shoulder to see what he was doing.
"That's what my friends always tell me. So what you got there?" I asked and he brought out two backpacks.
"Before you say I have serial killer weapons inside the bags, you're wrong." I raise my hands in surrender, not wanting to accuse him anymore of being a murderer.
"We're going hiking!" He says and my eyes widen in surprise, very much excited to start another adventure. This day just got a whole lot better.
First is hanging by the beach, then meeting a hot guy, then the whale watching event, and now a hiking date with the hot guy. Am I dreaming, if so, I don't want to wake up just yet.
"There's food, drinks, some survival gear, and first aid stuff inside these bags. One for each of us." He says and I take one of the bags from him, only for him to move it away.
"Nuh uh. I'm not letting you carry these. It's my job." He proudly says and I shake my head at him.
Though this girl is stubborn, just like he said, and so I fought him to get the bags. He has one advantage. He's way taller than me. He stands at about 6'2 while I'm only 5'8. But I'm not letting that stop me.
Applying what I learned in MMA, I grabbed on his back and wrapped my legs around his torso, and now it looks like his giving me a piggyback ride.
He seems surprised and distracted, so I took that as my chance and immediately grabbed one of the bags from him and went to the other side of the car. He didn't see that coming huh.
I strapped the back pack onto me, making sure he won't be able to get it again.
"God woman. You are so so stubborn. And where the hell did you learn that?" He asks.
"I took MMA." I proudly say and he smiles in amusement.
"Alright then Alex, the mixed martial arts expert, let's go inside." He says and he leads me towards the log cabin.
As we entered the cabin, the scent of old wood mixed with the smell of pine trees hit my nose and it brought back so many memories.
My father, he used to have an old cabin that we would go to whenever he had the chance, and it smells exactly like what I'm smelling now. I took a deep breath when Ares called on me.
"Alex. You good?" He asks and I nod, giving him a smile before walking towards him and to the counter.
"Hi. We're here for the solo hike." Liam says to the lady behind the counter.
"Can I get your names please?" She asks.
"Ares Alandro and Alex..." He says and I continue it for him.
"Alexandra Sawyers."
"Welcome Sir Alandro and Miss Sawyers. I trust that Sir Alandro knows his way. You may start your hike and have fun." The nice lady says and we thank her as Ares grabs my hand and pulls me out of the cabin, and into the forest.
"So you've been here a couple times huh?" I ask him since the lady from earlier said that Ares knows his way around, so I figured he'd been here before.
"Yep. I mean, I live in a small place so there's not much to do around aside from being with nature you know." He says as he leads me to a small trail.
Woah. This place has so much in store. It was already night time, and yet the trail is lit up bright enough for us to walk to as lights were hung on the trees and lights on the side of the trails surround the whole place.
It's like I'm in a Disney princess movie and all I needed to do now is to sing around these sky high trees and for birds to come to me.
"So, you like it?" He asks.
"Like? I don't even have the words to describe how amazing this place is." It's true. It's really like living a fairytale.
We silently walk around, following the trail. I lived in Canada for seventeen years and I didn't even know a place this beautiful even existed.
"So how's it like here?" I ask Ares, who seems to be also amused by this place even though he said he's been here for a hundred times.
"Well, it's certainly different from what you would see in the city. If they have skyscrapers, we have these trees."
We continued to talk about life and random things when we stopped to sit by a bench somewhere in this forest.
My feet were killing me and I'm so glad the girls let me wear this comfortable outfit.
Cold air passed through us and I shivered at the contact, and Ares noticed, so he put his arms around me, bringing me closer to him.
I felt my cheeks go warm and my heart starting to beat faster as I felt his warm body pressed to mine.
To make things much much more perfect, fireflies start to show up, adding life to the forest.
I was resting my head on his shoulder when he brought up my chin, and now we're only inches apart from each other.
We stared at each other's eyes for a moment when he started leaning closer, and I instinctively closed my eyes, waiting for our lips to touch.
He snaked his arms around me as our lips touched and he put me on his lap. I brought my arms around his neck, pulling him in and making our kiss deeper.
Oh he tastes amazing and his tongue does wonder on mine.
He snaked his arm around my waist when I remembered something that shouldn't be remembered.
I pulled away from the kiss which left Ares in shock.
"I'm... I shouldn't have kissed you. I'm sorry." He apologizes even though he has nothing to be sorry for.
"No no! This is on me. I'm sorry... I just..."
"Past relationship I guess?" He says and I nod. "It's alright. I understand." I give him a smile, thankful that he understands.
Our little date was then cut short when my phone started to ring.
I groan at the untimely interruption and he simply chuckles, saying we can continue this later.
"Hello?" I asked Madds, the girl who interrupted our moment.
"Liam's at the hospital, he—" She says and my eyes widen.
"What?!"
"The idiot rented a motorcycle, got drunk and crashed." Fuck Liam, what the hell were you thinking?
"How is he?"
"We don't know yet but we're on our way to the hospital."
"Alright I'll meet you there." I say and I end the call.
"What happened?" Ares asks and I tell him the situation.
"One of my friends got in an accident and I need to go to the hospital now. Can you take me there?"
"Yeah sure come on." He said and we ran back to the car. Once he got to turn on the engine, we went speeding up to the hospital where Liam was brought in.
Soon, we reached a small hospital and Ares led the way in.
"I'm here for Liam Laison?" I tell the nurse over the counter and leads me to one of the rooms.
Ares and I followed her directions and I saw my friends waiting outside.
"Guys. How is he?" I asked them after we greeted each other, and as if on cue, the doctor went out of the room.
"Good evening I'm doctor Shepherd, and your friend Liam will be just fine. He has a minor sprain on his wrist and a few other minor injuries on his head. Nothing serious and rest assured, he'll be fine." The doctor informs us and we thank him.
We went to the room and there in the hospital bed is the dumb and injured Liam, suffering the consequences of his mistake.
"Hold up! Before you guys say anything, I know you'll say what I did was stupid and reckless, and I am fully aware of that. I don't need anyone scolding me. You'll just make my headache worse." He says, before any of us could speak to him.
"Oh I was going to say how an idiot you are. What were you thinking?" I tell him and he sighs, clearly in a bad mood and doesn't want to talk about it.
"Can we talk about this tomorrow?" He said, and the group agreed.
"I'll stay here. You guys can go." I tell the group and Liam argues.
"I'm staying and it's final. Besides, this couch is better than sleeping beside Madds who keeps on kicking me out of the bed..." I tell the group and they laugh as Madds turns red.
The group leaves and Ares coughs. Oops, almost forgot about him.
"I'll be right back Liam." I tell the guy as Ares and I leave the room.
"That was some date huh." He starts and I feel apologetic for having our date cut short. I mean, who knew what could've happened next...
Okay Alex. Not the right time. Liam's in a hospital bed and I'm here thinking about sexual stuff.
"Yeah, sorry about that. But hey, good choice for a first date. Taking the girl hiking." I tell him.
"You're the first girl that I took there. Not much of them likes the woods and dirt." He said.
"So how'd you know I like woods and dirt? Lucky guess?" I asked.
"More like because you were giving off the adventurous vibe."
"Oh so you got that vibe by our one minute talk by the cafe?" I told him, amazed that what he thought of me was correct.
"More or less. Anyways, I gotta go. I'll call you though." He says and gives me a quick kiss on the cheek before leaving.
I went back to the room with a grumpy Liam, awaiting my return.
I sat on the bed, looking at him as he finds the perfect position to sleep in. With a cast on his arm, it's really hard to find a comfortable position.
"You good?" I asked him and he answered with a groan.
"Do you wanna talk?" I asked him once more.
"No." He sternly says and I was surprised by his tone.
"You know, I don't get you. One moment you're all smiles and then a grumpy rain cloud forms on top of your head and rain pours on you."
"You have a vivid imagination. Has anybody told you that?"
"Don't change the subject Liam."
"Whatever. I told you I don't want to talk okay?!" He exclaims and that shut me up. He rarely raises his voice around me.
"Fine. Suit yourself." I tell him as I lie on the couch and prepare myself to go to sleep.
"Alex. I'm sorry I didn't mean to raise my voice. Hey." He suddenly says but I ignore him, clearly hurt by his sudden actions.
Call me emotional, but I was just being a good friend and he had no reason to get mad. I'm just worried about him.
